Yorkshire has some of the most stunning roads you could drive on in the entire country. Some of the local routes in the Moors and the Dales, as well as a number of attractive coastal roads, afford superb views and pleasant twists and turns. However, Yorkshire also has its fair share of congested town roads, too. Huddersfield, Wetherby, Whitby, Northallerton, Swinton and Dewsbury all suffer from busy roads. And it is not just in the rush hour! You can face backed-up traffic in these sorts of regional towns at virtually any time of the day. Slow-moving town traffic means using your brakes and pulling away from stationary more often. It takes its toll. Therefore, you need to make sure your car is in good condition to stay safe. What should you do? Here are a few car servicing tips for you to carry out…

Have Your Car Serviced

An MOT on its own is not enough. Cars which drive through busy towns – and possibly run over potholes and speed bumps – need to be serviced regularly. You can book car service in Dewsbury now at Ossett Tyre House website from here. If your car is serviced, then the wear that comes from heavy traffic will be lessened.

Check Your Tyre Pressure

Town driving conditions will often lead to bumps as you run over debris and kerbs. Your tyre pressure can drop as a result. This means you have less traction which can be unsafe if you need to swerve suddenly. It will also mean driving with a diminished level of fuel efficiency.

Look After Your Battery

Ensure your battery is fully charged. If you don’t get out of town and only do short journeys, then your battery can wear down. Give it a good run out once in a while. Turn off your heaters unless they are needed and buy a new battery, if necessary. You don’t want your battery to fail which will leave you unable to get started.
With these few regular car servicing tips you will be well on your way to keeping your vehicle in tip-top condition as well as safe.
