11 Things I Swore I’d Never Do As A Parent… But I Did!

Do you know when you are the most perfect parent? Before you have kids, that’s when!! When you imagine how life with a teeny baby will be. You picture yourself looking lovingly down at your baby at 3 am, being able to go for brunch with all of your Mummy friends and not hearing a peep out of your little one, thinking you will have all that time on your hands to bake homemade goodies for them… Continue reading “11 Things I Swore I’d Never Do As A Parent… But I Did!”

Everybody Told Me To Prepare My Child For School… But Nobody Prepared Me!

School.

It was something I was dreading. The main reason being because I knew I was going to miss my boy so much in the week, that, and the daily school run (It was bad enough 3 days a week I couldn’t imagine adding another 2). I’d had my tears at the pre-school concert, I’d cried at the staff members as we said goodbye and I sobbed far too much opening paperwork for school. However, I hid my upset about this big change and put on my big girl pants in front of Jake and got on with being smiley, chirpy Mummy who was ‘super excited’ for him. The Summer Holidays: Expectations Vs Reality

Ahhhh, the summer holidays, the time of year when you get to spend more time with your kids, where routines and school runs go out of the window, the time of year when you romanticise how special every moment is going to be… shame reality takes over eh! Children’s Theme Tunes That You Can’t Help But Bop Along To

Children’s Theme Tunes That You Can’t Help But Bop Along To

As me and a friend sat having a hot drink yesterday whilst the kids played our conversation, as always, turned to the boys and what they are now into. Both have suddenly become more grown up and their attitudes and tastes are definitely reflecting this. We were cracking up at one another discussing what shows we now have to endure instead of the far too familiar sound of Peppa Pig and one thing we both noticed was that we had a secret love of singing and bopping about to the theme tunes of these shows they are now watching.  Continue reading “Children’s Theme Tunes That You Can’t Help But Bop Along To”

You Know You’re a Stay at Home Mum when…

My life has changed considerably since becoming a stay at home Mum. Some may question my choice but I wouldn’t change any part of the last three years. Yeah, so my priorities are a far cry from what they were when I was employed and I may not be the hard-faced business person I once was when I worked in retail but I have a new focus and, for me, it is the most important one I have ever had.

Of course, there are plenty times when Continue reading “You Know You’re a Stay at Home Mum when…”
