Our Visit to Little Play Town

The weather has been less than Spring like recently (to say the least) and as most of our usual indoor activities had been exhausted we found ourselves at a bit of a loss over what to do the other day. Then I remembered hearing about a new play place in Odiham, Hampshire. A friend had highly recommended that we visit Little Play Town because her children had such a great time so I set about looking it up online.

Little Play Town is an indoor interactive play place for babies and children aged 1-6 years. It is very similar to Continue reading “Our Visit to Little Play Town”

6 Fun Weekend Activities Your Kids Will Love

Keeping the children entertained during the weekend can sometimes feel like a difficult challenge. If you have run out of ideas on how to keep them occupied, you have come to the perfect place. Check out the six fun weekend activities your kids will love.

  1. Visit a Zoo

Your children will love seeing different animals at the zoo, such as elephants, monkeys, and tigers. Many zoos also offer an affordable family pass, so it can be a cheap day out. It’s bound to be an entertaining day that your children will remember for many years to come, and you could even buy them a keepsake from the gift store, so they will have a much-loved keepsake from the family day out.

  1. Book Tickets to a Theme Park

Your kids will bounce up and down once you tell them you’ve booked tickets to a fantastic theme park, such as Universal Orlando, Legoland, or SeaWorld. They will love riding roller coasters and watching family-friendly entertainment. It’s a thrilling activity they’re unlikely to forget in a hurry, so book tickets to a theme park at ticketsales.com.

  1. Go Rollerblading

Rollerblading can be a fun activity for all ages. It doesn’t matter if your child is 5 or 15, they will love putting on a pair of rollerblades and gliding from A to B. It’s, therefore, the ideal activity for all the family, and it can help improve everyone’s health and fitness levels. Yet, it’s important to provide them with protective gear to ensure they are safe whilst having fun, so they can reduce the risk of injury if they fall.

  1. Explore Exhibitions at a Local Museum

Museums can provide your kids with hours of fun, as they can explore different exhibits on different topics. It’s a fun and cultural activity that could support your child’s education, as they’ll learn plenty of interesting facts throughout the day. Most museums also offer special promotions, weekly discounts, and even free admission on specific days, so do a little research to time your visit well.

  1. Enjoy a Family Bike Ride

If your children spend far too much time on the couch during weekends, you should encourage everyone to go on a family bike ride. You, your partner, and the kids can cycle your way across the neighbourhood or through the local park, so you can each become more physical activity while enjoying some fresh air. Ensure your kids also have helmets on to ensure their safety while cycling and don’t forget to pack plenty of bottled water to avoid dehydration and increase their energy levels.

  1. Go on a Mini Road Trip

Pack a suitcase, grab the kids, and head off on a long weekend adventure. Write a bucket list of activities you want to experience throughout the weekend, so your children can visit different attractions and see new sights on your mini road trip. Don’t forget to book hotels in advance, so you will have a safe, comfortable place to stay each night on your travels.

everything you need to take your baby swimming

Everything You Need to Take Your Baby Swimming

I remember when we first took Jake swimming as a 10-week old baby. Oh, the naivety. I had assumed that he would love it, I had assumed that other children would be more careful around a baby, I thought it would be beautifully warm and we would be in there for a while… not quite! He kinda liked it, other children don’t really care how much they splash you and he got cold, so cold that his lips turned blue. So it lasted about ten minutes and that was that, his very first swim over in a flash. But we were first-time parents. We hadn’t been swimming ourselves for years and we certainly hadn’t done our research into what was available for babies to make their experience better. Situated in Thatcham near Newbury, Berkshire this indoor gem is an ecological and educational centre which attracts visitors all year round. It provides a tropical environment based across 3 rooms in which you can discover wonderful plants, insects and animals all of which are becoming endangered in our rainforests today. If you love The Eden Project you will also love it here! Continue reading “Visiting The Living Rainforest”

Reasons to Select Quality Wooden Toys for Your Child

Toys are without a doubt special in the life of every child. They also help them form special memories and experiences. While toys are fun for your child, picking out the wrong ones can actually prove harmful to them. Furthermore, spending long hours in front of tablets and smartphones has a negative impact on the learning and development of your child. This is where wooden toys come in! Quality wooden toys are not only sustainable, durable and appealing; they are also great for the learning and development of your child. Here are the five major reasons why you should choose wooden toys for your child instead of letting your child play with electronics: Continue reading “Reasons to Select Quality Wooden Toys for Your Child”

nursing box ideas

Nursing Box Ideas To Keep Your Toddler Entertained

Preparing to bring a new arrival home from hospital is an important task and one area I have been thinking about is something that will help to make Jake feel included and entertained whilst I am nursing his baby brother; a nursing box. This will be a special box that he can go to at anytime for when he is feeling bored or possibly left out and will keep him happily occupied whilst I am otherwise engaged. I know he will have a good understanding at his age but it will all still be very strange and new to him and as he has been the only child for 4 years I want him to feel as though his needs are also being thought about.

So, I have had a little hunt around on the internet to find items that will suit his needs and these are what have grabbed my attention and are going on my wishlist. Continue reading “Nursing Box Ideas To Keep Your Toddler Entertained”
