Yes, I said it. Christmas. I’m not usually one to say it quite so early but what with numerous birthdays beforehand (as well as one on the day itself!) I have decided that this year is the year I get organised and on the ball well in advance. As a busy Mum of 2 now, I can’t leave it all to the last minute anymore and I don’t want to be rushing around when we could be enjoying the run-up to the big day by visiting Grottos, going to Christmas Fayres or even to one of the many stunning winter wonderlands that are on in our area. Well, our brand ambassadorship has come to a close and to say I am a little sad about that is an understatement. I am the first to admit that my attitude towards baby swimming hasn’t been the most positive in the past. When I had Jake, I thought people were crazy to pay out for a newborn to go swimming, for making the time and effort to go to a class when they were so sleep deprived and for getting their babies to swim under the water, all I could think was ‘how will this benefit them?!‘ Continue reading “Our Turtle Tots Brand Ambassadorship #bringonthesmiles”
As you know, a teething baby is hard work at night time. The pain tends to wake them more often, their ears can ache when laid down, nappy rash can make turning over uncomfortable and you will certainly know about it if a tooth decides to cut in the early hours! It’s tough. I am experiencing it all over again and it is just as bad the second time around. However, Continue reading “The Perfect Bedtime Routine for Your Teething Baby”
I have been very lucky. Breastfeeding has come easily and naturally with both of my children and I’ve never experienced any issues or, thankfully, no negative comments when feeding out and about. I know there are a lot of reasons that other women may not be able to do it, why they feel they have to give up or why they feel it isn’t for them but as I have previously mentioned, I do believe that the key to changing this is via support. I really wish that more Mothers could Continue reading “What I Love About Breastfeeding”
A little while ago I wrote about 5 changes I was planning on making to be more eco-friendly; do away with clingfilm, buy a compost bin, grow our own, switch to reusable nappies and reusable sanitary towels. At the time I had the idea but I must admit that what with being a parent of two now, being tired most of the time and being quite stuck in my ways, I felt a little hesitant and apprehensive. It’s daft how we all get so Continue reading “How We’ve Been Making Positive Eco-friendly Changes”
Breastfeeding, love it or hate it, do it or don’t, argue online or really don’t see the point in the debate, no matter what your stance is it always gets a rise doesn’t it?
If I’m completely honest with you (and I always am!), I’m pretty bored of the breast versus formula saga and it was only last year I wrote a post on why I couldn’t understand the controversy that surrounds breastfeeding your baby so this year I want to speak out about why Continue reading “Why Support in Breastfeeding is Essential in Improving our Rates”
Ahhh, weaning, that time of babyhood that you either love or hate. It’s funny when you see people who just simply cannot wait to start feeding their babies. I’m always over here like, reeeallly?! You do know that means much more mess, so much more planning, bigger poos and never leaving the house just with your boobs or bottle? Yeah, I’m not the biggest fan of this process.
And of course, with weaning comes the next battlefield for a debate… sigh. Continue reading “The Minefield that is Weaning!”
