Why Does Clarks Always Come Under Fire?

This may be a risky post as I know there are some avid Clarks bashers out there but I feel that as an ex-employee–yes, that’s right, 8 years at Clarks with 6 as a manager– I need to stand up for them because even though I left back in 2012 I still feel very strongly about the service that this store has to offer.

Every year, usually around this time, the same stories come out in the media whether it is via a blog post, a tweet or an extensive, angry Facebook post poor Clarks Continue reading “Why Does Clarks Always Come Under Fire?”

Breastfeeding- why all the controversy?

Breastfeeding- Why All The Controversy?

This week is World Breastfeeding Week and even though I have seen plenty of amazing articles from bloggers who have shared their stories, offered advice and support and, as always, have shown this stage of Motherhood in its true light I have still been left infuriated by the usual debates, arguments and ignorance that have cropped up all over social media. The worst for me has to be the fact that at the start of the week I kept seeing an article asking if we should be calling it world feeding week?  Continue reading “Breastfeeding- Why All The Controversy?”

It Is OK To Hate Pregnancy

On Friday Chanelle Hayes (reality TV star) went on This Morning to discuss her pregnancy. Having suffered with weight gain, loss and gain again, as well as having polycystic ovaries, it was a surprise to her that she fell pregnant so easily and she has subsequently been on a few of these types of magazine shows to talk about her life… whether you are interested or not! However, this interview was slightly different. Continue reading “It Is OK To Hate Pregnancy”

What Message Is This Sending To Young Girls?!

Music has always been a big part of my life and during my childhood I loved watching Top of the Pops, listening to the top 20 on radio 1 whilst learning all the words to my favourite songs. Ok, I know some were controversial and Madonna may have sung about a few things that a child shouldn’t have heard – asking my Mum one day what a Continue reading “What Message Is This Sending To Young Girls?!”

Another Day, Another Social Media Fad- This is not the way to raise awareness

I don’t know how all of you guys woke up yesterday but my wake up call happened to be a facebook message, which isn’t unusual, but this one was clearly another chain message. I have had so many in the last couple of months that I am used to being told ‘send this one because these people are hackers’ ‘send this on for good luck’ ‘tomorrow facebook is going to have all of your details, BEWARE’ and quite frankly Continue reading “Another Day, Another Social Media Fad- This is not the way to raise awareness”

The Battle of Fitting Children’s Clothes

I don’t know about you but I am pretty fed up with trying to shop for clothes for my son. At almost three we have had the same issue since he was about 7 months old; clothes just never seem to come up right. When he was newborn he fed really well and had the typical baby podge. He would fill out most of his clothes and as they came in 3-month stages I found it very easy to choose a selection to fit. As he began to Continue reading “The Battle of Fitting Children’s Clothes”

Fireworks Noise: Have We All Had Enough?

Have you had enough of the torrent of bangs so far this year? I certainly have. I remember when Bonfire night used to be just that, one night. Over the last two years, I have noticed an increase in a number of fireworks not only being use on November 5th but beginning in October and going off most nights until mid-January! With fireworks being sold in the doorway of your local supermarket and the competitive prices also being placed Continue reading “Fireworks Noise: Have We All Had Enough?”
