I recently discovered a whole new world of cleaning and I. Am. Hooked! Cleaning with just water, that is it. Nope, I’m not making it up you CAN clean with just water, kill 99% of bacteria, have an allergy-safe home, reduce your plastic waste as well as stop using toxic chemicals that can damage our environment all by switching to this amazing cloth (and it’s friends!) I really do like a clean house but I really detest having to use chemicals. I have become far more aware of the amount most people use every single day around their homes and this not only affects the environment but can also affect your health, your children’s and any pets you may own too. I’ve recently been making my own cleaning products in order to steer clear of all of these toxins but then e-cloth got in touch with me and told me they had cloths that enabled you to clean using only water!! Yes, just water. Continue reading “Review | Eco Cleaning with E-Cloth”

Popper or Velcro Cloth Nappies?

The popularity of cloth nappies is clearly growing and for me, this is a great sign! I love seeing more parents showing off their latest prints, their babies fluff bums and yelling at the top of their voices about helping the planet. It is such a step in the right direction. Of course, with this new interest comes plenty of questions and those questions are always good. Never ever think that a cloth nappy question is stupid because if you are asking it, you have a reason for that and if one person can answer it quickly and easily for you, that may help to keep you on the cloth nappy path and prevent you from reverting back to disposables. I’ve answered a lot of the usual questions in this blog post here (washing, myths, costs etc) but this post is going to cover whether you should you go for popper or velcro cloth nappies. Using Cloth Nappies on Holiday

When it comes to using cloth nappies, I use them full-time so when I go on holiday I don’t see why that would change. For me, this is my routine. William wears cloth nappies, not disposables and so far, each of my holidays or trips has allowed for that to continue. Here’s how I use cloth nappies whilst on holiday… Continue reading “Using Cloth Nappies on Holiday”

Affordable Ways To Get You Started With Cloth Nappies

Starting out with cloth nappies can seem daunting for quite a few reasons and one that comes up most often (other than washing) is the initial set-up cost. Yep, I get that. When I first started looking at cloth I did what most people do and gasped at some of the prices. I wondered how on earth I’d be able to afford to buy enough to use cloth full-time and worried that I would spend out lots of money only for it not to work for us. I think the majority of us cloth nappy parents have thought all of these things at the beginning so I promise that you are not alone. Where Do I Start With Cloth Nappies?

“Where do I start with cloth nappies?” is the most common question I get asked and to be honest it is actually a bit of a tough one to answer because every baby and child is different and working out what works for you will depend on them, your routine, whether or not you want to cloth full-time and what brands you prefer. What I can most definitely help with is clearing up some of the areas that seem daunting and confusing. Continue reading “Where Do I Start With Cloth Nappies?”

cloth sanitary pads

Making The Switch To Cloth Sanitary Pads

I started my periods way back when I was around 11/12 and yet what has recently astounded me is that I have gone around for the last 25 years or so not knowing that cloth sanitary pads were a thing. I have spent how much?! Oh, god, I don’t want to know, just imagine… I may cry, I may actually cry, PLUS I have sent god knows how much plastic, chemical-filled waste to landfill or incineration (pass the bucket). I honestly not only feel sick from all of this but I also feel completely and utterly cheated. Continue reading “Making The Switch To Cloth Sanitary Pads”
