It’s super surprising how many confident and amazing people out there feel confident in everything in their lives except for their smile. They feel like the world is at their feet but they avoid smiling widely for the world to see because they just don’t feel like they have the ‘perfect’ smile.

But what makes a smile so perfect? Is it the professional teeth cleaning job your dentist has done? Is it the veneers? Nope – those things are great additions to a smile but the best smiles are those that come with a level of mental and emotional confidence behind them. There are plenty of ways that you can feel confident and in this article, we’re going to lay them out for you!

  1. Go and see the dentist. If your smile is not up to par, go and see your dentist and have a chat about it. They’ll recommend the usual cleanings and health checks but they may also be able to help out with cavities, teeth whitening and replacing any missing teeth, too. You need to boost your smile with the help of an expert and your dentist is the expert you can rely on!
  2. Keep your teeth clean. If you love coffee, use a straw. If you love strawberries and other seeded fruits, use floss to get the seeds out. You need your teeth to be clean and healthy to maintain a healthy and clean smile. That’s one of the best ways to feel confident about the smile you have, because good dental hygiene is going to make you feel like you’re achieving something.
  3. Try and avoid foods that stain. Wine is delicious on a friday night but red wine can stain. You want to avoid too many drinks that stain the teeth and coffee, tea and wine are common culprits. You can take on any number of caffeine-laden alternatives, though, so don’t panic if you need that caffeine hit but you want to avoid those stains.
  4. Don’t let your gaps become a problem. Teeth become loose and fall out for many reasons but the best thing that you can do is tackle those reasons so that they don’t become a problem anymore. Most people take their teeth for granted but if you don’t keep up with your teeth and replace the teeth that fall out, you’re going to find out how un-confident you’re about to be!

Your teeth are just one area for you to feel confident when you smile. You need to strive for health in your gums, tongue and mouth, too. Take the time to see the experts and assess your needs so that you can feel confident about your smile and really showcase how happy you truly are. Smile widely and know that your whole soul shines through as a result, but do what you can to avoid hiding away! You deserve the best possible smile you can have and now you know the best ways to feel confident about it.
