Do you want to do your bit for the environment? If so, you have come to the right place. This guide will show you how you could use more reclaimed wood around your home, so you can benefit yourself going forward.

Kitchen Centre Islands

Center islands add a perfect blend of casual style, but at the same time, they are also very refined. You can have them custom-designed or you can opt for a ready-made option online. Either way, it’s a great way for you to add to the kitchen you have. If you’re not sure what to go with then you should try and consider your color scheme. If you have a lot of gray in your home or your kitchen then you may want to opt for reclaimed gray wood for your islands. By considering things like this, you can make a major difference to your home.

Bathroom Accent Wall

Reclaimed wood looks great when you install it as an accent wall. It helps to set the backdrop for a stunning bathroom. If you want to do something like this then try and consider opting for a darker wood. You might want to opt for walnut for example as it will stand out amongst the white porcelain bathroom fixtures you have. If you want to go for something a little different here then you can easily opt for gray wood instead. If you do this then you can warm up a very white room which is always a good thing to do.

Kitchen Cabinets

Kitchen cabinets are another opportunity for you to liven up your space. You can use the reclaimed wood you have to create panels for your kitchen cabinets. Design some simple cabinets with some plank doors and then use some white panels for the backsplash. If you do this then you will soon find that it is easier than ever for you to get the result you are going for. The overall look is both fresh and warm, and you’d be surprised at what a difference it can make.

Western Bar

If you entertain quite a lot then why not opt for a western bar? You can use reclaimed wood here and you can also create a shelf for all of your mixers. If you want to add to the space then consider adding some recycled piping-based shelves so you can stop your bottles from falling off. You can find some great ideas for your home bar here. If you have never really looked into using wood before then you should know that a lot of the time you can introduce it yourself. You don’t need to hire a contractor to make what you need if you have some basic power tools, so keep that in mind. If you don’t have any power tools then this is not an issue, you can easily buy ready-made shelves online.

Built-In Beds

There aren’t many things that are as cozy or as inviting as having a built-in bed. You can use reclaimed wood for this too. When you do this, you can also add drawers underneath for additional storage. You can make bookshelves out of reclaimed wood too which is a great way for you to add a pop of color.  If you are creative then you can probably use this theme throughout all of your bedrooms which helps to provide a nice and cohesive look overall.

Bathroom Cabinets

Adding some bathroom cabinets is another great thing you can do to get the best result out of your space. A simple vanity that has been inspired by a double sink is a very good investment. You can also use reclaimed wood for this too, just make sure that you apply the right finish because if you don’t then you may find that the wood ends up swelling, and this is the last thing you need when you have put so much time and effort into your design. If you want to be creative here then one thing you can do is try and opt for rusted hardware. This is a very good way for you to add to the design of your bathroom and you would be surprised at what a difference this could make to your space, especially if you are going for the farmhouse cottage look.

So as you can see, there are a lot of things you can do to try and make the most out of your space and if you use these tips, you can do it without harming the environment.
