My Honest Review of Medik8 Exo-PDRN Prismatic+ Youthful Vitality Serum
*PR Product
When it comes to skincare, I’m the not most invested person. I like simple products, I like a quick routine and I definitely don’t want a faff. So, it’ll come as no surprise when I tell you that my normal daily skincare steps usually involve soap and a flannel followed by a moisturiser, and so far this has done me ok. However, ageing does happen and even though I am happy with doing it gracefully and embracing my laughter lines and so on, I have recently noticed a few things I am not particularly enjoying. Puffiness on some days of the month, a duller complexion since perimenopause started, as well as uneven skin tone. Oh, the joys of being in your 40’s – but what can be done? Obviously, most of us see the many adverts for the wide array of thick/heavy anti-ageing creams, we see celebrities getting Botox and fillers, and we are all constantly bombarded by products that “absolutely promise” to reverse the signs of ageing which is fine if any of that’s for you, but these options aren’t for me. I want to look and feel like myself and not feel like there is stuff on/in my face. Just as I was contemplating researching what products could work for my skin, Medik8 got in touch. I hadn’t heard of this brand previously but after a look at their website, their ethics, sustainability aims and their wide variety of products with really good reviews, I was excited to give their Exo-PDRN Prismatic+ Youthful Vitality Serum a try, and after three weeks, this is how I got on.
A Little About Medik8
Medik8 is a UK brand that prides itself on creating and manufacturing all of their products just outside of London. They are a brand that cares about what people put on their skin, meaning they ensure that all of their ingredients earn their place on the ingredient list. This means each must be there to help support visible results or contribute to the experience, preservation or effectiveness of a product, not just added because it is a “latest trend”. Each one is also thoroughly assessed for its safety, environmental impact, how well it performs and overall customer satisfaction before being approved within a formula. Medik8 are B-Corp certified, they are vegan and do not test on animals.
“Our products are truly bespoke; designed by our in-house formulation scientists and researchers who intricately curate and experiment with unique ingredient combinations and the latest technologies to deliver the best possible experience and results; so you never have to compromise”

What is Exo-PDRN Prismatic+ Youthful Vitality Serum?
The Exo-PDRN Prismatic+ serum is a brand new product for Medik8. The company say that it has been expertly formulated to rejuvenate, enhance luminosity, plump and reinforce the skin barrier (something I think we all strive to have). The formulation all sounds very scientific – for example, Powered by intelligent prismatic PDRN, with a stable tetrahedral structure that mimics an arrow’s aerodynamic form, to allow for optimal penetration – so I won’t go into all I have read over on their website but you can certainly have a look yourself here. For me, the pointers that made me curious about this product and eager to try it included:
- Scientifically proven to boost the skin’s natural rejuvenation by over 50%
- Clinically proven to improve the look of skin luminosity and vitality in 7 days
- Supports visibly smoother skin with improved tone and texture
- Clinically proven to improve skin barrier function in 7 days
- Designed to support the skin’s natural recovery processes, making it ideal for daily use
The key ingredients are:
Prismatic PDRN – The part that supports skin recovery, helps soothe visible irritation and reveals smoother, more youthful-looking skin.
Triple Exosome Complex – The ingredient that supports natural skin signalling processes, resilience and recovery, helping to strengthen the skin barrier and promote a healthier, more radiant-looking complexion.
GF MiniProtein – This helps to boost skin’s collagen, elastin & hyaluronic acid levels.
ATP Precursor – An energy-carrying molecule that helps optimise the natural processes involved in visible skin rejuvenation.

Exo-PDRN Prismatic+ Review
First Impressions and Steps
This product isn’t cheap, it costs £79 for a 30ml bottle so naturally that price tag is also reflected in the sleek packaging. The simple white and elegant cardboard box and glass bottle with black writing and the stylish curved top pump, immediately had me saying “ahh this is nice”. A perfect size for holding, it doesn’t take up much space and it feels much more luxurious than a cheap plastic bottle that most products come in nowadays. The cardboard box it arrived in, box and glass bottle can all also be easily recycled. It felt to me that everything had been thought about when producing this serum and I personally like that.

Just lately, my skin has reacted quite severely to a lot of skincare products that are better for your health and the planet and I think I have narrowed this down to the fact that more natural ingredients, namely seed oils, are used to substitute other mainstream ingredients. It’s a shame, but it’s also one reason that I have been relying more on just soap and water. Due to this, I did check their full ingredients list and did a patch test on my cheek and neck before heading fully into this review. After 12 hours I had zero reaction and felt happy to begin full-time use of the Exo-PDRN Primastic+ serum.
*I would always recommend (as do Medik8) doing patch tests before switching to something new.
Week One of Use
I’ll be honest, I’m quite a sceptic when it comes to skincare products. Having dealt with large pores, spots, greasy areas etc for most of my life and having tried many a product that has claimed it could rid my skin of these but then failed, I do find myself doubting all new products that I come across, and I was the same with this formula from Medik8. HOWEVER (that’s a big however and it needed to be) this light, clear serum went over my skin easily, and after 7 days of using the Exo-PDRN Prismatic+, I could actually see a slight difference. My skin was smoother and my pores looked slightly smaller. Ok, I thought, that’s a good start but will it continue to change or get better?

Week Two of Use
I was using the serum as directed, twice a day on my face, chest and neck but I did have a couple of large spots appear on my chest and neck so to be on the safe side, I reduced my usage down to once a day (I wasn’t sure if it was the serum or hormones). Using the Exo-PDRN Prismatic+ once a day still gave me results, and as my spots cleared up, I began applying it again to my chest and neck with no issues recurring. By the end of this week, I was noticing that my skin looked brighter, clearer, and the tone was much more even, and my foundation just glided on effortlessly. I was starting to be impressed by this!
Week Three of Use
Oh, I think I’m hooked!! I am at the end of week 3 and my skin is looking and feeling even better than last week. The serum goes on smoothly and absorbs quickly, after which I can apply my moisturiser and then my makeup (if required. I do often go barefaced anyway). Even with these on top, I don’t feel as though I have lots of layers on top of my skin and this is one of the biggest pros for me, as I said above, I still want to feel like me. Other people may not notice the changes, but as someone who has always studied and critiqued her skin, I have most definitely noticed the improvement in so many areas and I am loving it. I can’t say that I have seen much change on my neck and chest but the pores on my face are significantly smaller, my skin tone is smoother and more even, the puffiness has gone down, and a couple of imperfections that have bothered me for years have been reduced. This sceptic is completely and utterly surprised.
Pros and Cons
Pros:
- Clear, lightweight serum that glides on easily
- No mess
- Quickly absorbed
- Noticeable changes within the first few weeks
- Vegan and cruelty free
- Scientifically formulated
- Suitable for all skin types
Cons:
- Price
- Requires you to be consistent to continue to see results, ideally twice a day application
Overall Thoughts
My skincare routine is about to change for good, it seems. I am that impressed with the changes within such a short space of time that I am most definitely going to continue using the Exo-PDRN Prismatic+ Youthful Vitality Serum and I may even have to look at the other products the brand recommends using alongside it, such as their Vitamin C Gel serum called C-Tetra® Advanced. This product may be on the pricey side but it is ethical, sustainably made, vegan, cruelty free, UK made and does actually work.
