Visiting Queen Elizabeth Country Park, Hampshire

Queen Elizabeth Country Parl Trail

With over 2,000 acres of open access woodland and downland to explore, Queen Elizabeth Country Park is a Hampshire place to visit that we have recently grown to love. Having often been here as a child, it was only last year that I decided to see how it had developed and what it could offer us now I have a family of my own. I am happy to report that it didn’t fail to make everybody smile and we just keep going back!

What It’s Like at Queen Elizabeth Country Park

With trails, woodland, play areas, picnic spots, an assault course and even a dog agility course, there is so much to see and do here. You could easily spend a whole day here and then go away and return and have a completely different type of day the next time you visit.

There are several car parking areas with the main car park as you drive in next to the cafe and shop. This is ideal if you want a stroll through the woods or perhaps even if you want to climb Butser Hill which is located opposite the country park. The benefit of this car park is that you have all the amenities and also the trails right next to it. One thing I was definitely pleased to see here is an outdoor tap to refill your water bottles and provide a drink for your dog. I must also give a mention to the very friendly staff in the shop and cafe who are always very welcoming and polite.

However, there IS far more and if you want to discover play areas, the assault course and dog agility course then follow the road around the side of the main building and keep heading up and up to the top car park. This way you will save yourself a steep walk and be able to jump out of the car and immediately get stuck into all that is here. This is our go to and the kids absolutely love it!

And don’t worry because there are also toilets, a kiosk, barbecue and picnic areas here too.

Queen Elizabeth Country Park is ideal for hiking, cycling, dog walks, kids and even us big kids too!
