If you are planning a girls’ weekend in London over the summer, chances are you might feel a little overwhelmed with all the things you want to do, especially if it’s your first visit to London. However, here are 5 simple tips that can help you to make the most out of your weekend away with the girls, without making any compromise on the fun you will have. Here’s also a fantastic list of fun things to do in London if you’re looking for some activities and venues.

Stay somewhere central

Though it might be tempting to save a little money and stay outside of the centre of London, to make sure that you don’t spend all your time travelling (and so you can find your way home at the end of the night!) it is always best to stay somewhere central.

Even better, why not stay in a hotel that is not only centrally located but also has its own sky bar within the complex? Dorsett Hotel, City is close to Aldgate Tube station which serves the Circle and Metropolitan lines, as well as being home to the Jin Bo Law Skybar which boasts a carefully created cocktail menu.

Buy a Travelcard or get an Oyster card in advance

If you plan on taking the Tube multiple times during your stay in London, it is best to get your tickets in advance. A Travelcard can give you unlimited travel at any time on bus, Tube, Tram, DLR, Overground, and Rail services.

You could either get a paper Travelcard, such as an Anytime Day, Off-peak, or Group if there is more than ten of you, or you could prepay your Travelcard onto an Oyster card. The benefit of an Oyster card is that you can also use it for pay as you go services, and you can get it posted to your home in advance of the trip.

Don’t try and do too much

Even if you want to try and pack the most into your weekend, don’t try and do too much! A girls’ weekend away should be more quality time with your friends and less rushing around to get to the next destination because you overbooked yourself.

Plan a couple of things each day that you all agree you have to do that weekend and then have a list of the things you would like to do if you get the chance that are nearby. That way you can better organise your time and still do everything you want to do.

Hit up some fancy cocktail bars

What says a girls’ weekend in London better than hitting up some fancy cocktail bars to channel your inner Carrie Bradshaw. Push the boat out and try new and exciting drinks you might not be able to get at home.

Remember to factor in time to relax

Finally, and most importantly, remember to factor in some relaxation time for you and the girls. Perhaps you could head to a spa for a pamper session, or maybe you could give yourself an extra hour in bed the morning after trying out the best cocktail bars!

So, what are you waiting for? Grab your girls and head down to London for a fabulous weekend away, making sure you make the most of it with these top tips.
