There are so many different things that can affect our quality of life. But one of the main determining factors when it comes to your quality of life is your health. After all, if you’re in good health and have plenty of energy, you have the potential to carry out all sorts of activities and engage in all sorts of events that can help you to experience the world, build strong relationships, and generally make the world a better place. So, what should you be doing to lead as healthy a lifestyle as possible? Here are a few steps that should get you started in the right direction!

Kick Bad Habits

Before you start forging new good habits, it’s best to kick some existing bad habits. We all have bad habits, but some really are more detrimental than others when it comes to our overall health and wellbeing. If you smoke, now is the time to pack it in. Consider nicotine replacement products, such as nicotine patches, nicotine gum, or even vaping. If you drink excessively, begin to monitor the number of units you consume a week. Avoid binge drinking and save alcohol for a glass of wine with your evening meal. If you are having difficulty cutting any substance out of your life, consider visiting www.help4addiction.co.uk/. Foster Good Habits

Once bad habits are out of the way, you can begin to focus on establishing new habits in your life. This may seem difficult at first, but studies show that it takes an average of twenty-one days to form a habit. So, stick at it for just under a month and you should be good! The following habits may seem common sense, but it’s astounding the number of people who neglect them!

  • Eat Your Five a Day – incorporate at least five portions of fruit and vegetables into your diet every day. One portion should be equal to about a handful. You can do this throughout meals. Or you could tackle the task by blending five portions of fruit and veg into an easy-to-drink smoothie each morning.
  • Stay Hydrated – aim to drink eight glasses of water a day. It’s one of the simplest ways to support both your mind and body. If plain water feels hard to keep up with, consider using an alkaline water system to make hydration more enjoyable and refreshing. And if you often forget to drink, invest in a reusable water bottle so you’ll always have water within reach.
  • Exercise – it’s recommended that the average adult gets one hundred and fifty minutes of moderate aerobic exercise a week, or seventy-five minutes of vigorous aerobic exercise a week. There are various ways that you can incorporate this into your routine. Whether that’s heading to the gym, joining a sports team, attending classes, or taking a walk or jog around your local part.

If you want to live life to its utmost, you’re going to have to start prioritising your health. Hopefully, the above information should help you to achieve this!
