Here’s How You Could Add Way More Hours to Your Day
*Collaborative Post
It’s true that a 25-hour day isn’t going to happen, and although that would be great, there really isn’t anything that you can do to literally extend the day. There are things that you can do, however, to make the day feel longer than it actually is. If you want to feel as though you are getting more out of your week here’show to add more hours to your day…
Stop Wasting Time
If you want to have more time in the day then you need to start off with the things that are taking up most of your time. For example, if you watch more than an hour of television every single day then why not cut this down to half an hour, or even fifteen minutes? The same concept applies to the internet. Try and incorporate an internet-based diet into your life. You could try and half your usage for the next two weeks and this is a great way for you to really take back control of your life. You may even find that you don’t miss the internet at all, and this is because the time you do spend on it is put towards something worthwhile. For example, if you know that you only half an hour on the internet every day, instead of wasting it watching YouTube videos, you may message friends, check the weather and more. Another huge time-waster is games. Cutting back on any gaming that you do can save you a ton of time, and you’d be surprised at how much this can free up your day.
Cutting Back on your Job
So let’s move on to the biggest time-waster of the day. Your job. Sure, you may not be able to cut back on your work if you work a standard 9-5 job, but if you work for yourself then it is more than possible for you to work as little as 4 hours per week. You can start by outsourcing the tasks that you don’t need to do and you can then work to increase your productivity. When you do this, you then need to focus on lowering the amount of effort you need to put in to achieve that same level of productivity and this is a great way for you to really make the most out of your working week when you are self-employed. There’ll be no more midnight emailing sessions and you’ll be so glad that you made this change. if you do work a 9-5 job then try and stop staying behind so much and also try and devote your time to the more important work matters that you have. This will help you to be more efficient and you’ll also be able to get everything done in more than enough time as well.
Chores
Chores can take up a ton of time and they really are not fun at all. It’s true that you can’t cut down on the number of chores you have to do unless you hire a maid or even a personal cook. It is possible however to be way more efficient in the chores that you do. Instead of spending hours trying to clean, plan out the jobs that will make the most difference in the shortest space of time. You can also try and plan out why you have to do so many chores, and create a system to work around it. For example, if you make a lot of mess when you cook, consider making more than one portion at once. Meals that are great for this include spaghetti bolognese and lasagne. You only have to cook once and you have meals for the whole week. On top of this, you only have to wash up once as well. You can even hire dog walkers to help you to take the pooch out for a good walk every day and this will save you around an hour every single day.
It’s All About Gap Time
When you look at your day, you’ll probably see that 2-5 hours of it is “gap time”. Gap time is when you spend a couple of hours in your day between activities. This could be waiting in line or it could be driving to work. Sure, you might not be able to avoid all of these things but it is more than possible for you to utilise your time when you do them. You could take a book with you while you are waiting in line or you could even try and solve problems on your way to work. It also helps to visualise how you are going to spend the rest of your day as well, so you know that you won’t have any problems at all when things get a little hectic.
Think- What’s Really Important?
The final step to making more time in your day is to try and focus on what is important and what isn’t. For example, if you want to spend a lot of your time focusing on your business rather than focusing on your emails then consider setting up an autoresponder so that you can say yes or no to people without having to type out a huge email every single time. If you like to read for information, try and skip out on chapters so that you can learn everything that you need to know without having to worry about wasting too much time.
If you are wanting to have more time in your day then it is more than possible for you to do this and it is more than possible for you to have more time for the things that you love as well. Anyone can use the above tips and you would be surprised at how much this could make a difference to your lifestyle. At the end of the day, you just have to do whatever works for you, and if you find something that works then make sure that you stick with it.
