Some vacations are great because there is a lot of excitement. Sightseeing the major tourist attractions, going on rides at an amusement park, and taking in a theater show are all great ways to pass a vacation. Sometimes, however, a vacation needs to be laid back and done in a cabin in the woods.

To get the most out of it, you have to bring the right gear. Whether it is the Point Zero Titan solar generator to run your devices or just having a lot of books to read, what you bring will make or break your relaxing vacation away from it all.

In this article, we will go over the essentials to bring with you to make sure you get the most out of your trip to the cabin.

Have plenty of activities

The point of heading into the woods to a cabin is to get away from the stresses of everyday life and tune out. It’s not a time to sit in front of a TV or on a tablet. This is why it’s important to bring plenty of activities to pass the time. Laying in a hammock is definitely on the agenda but you can only do that for so long before you need to get active.

Lawn games are essential as they will involve the entire family and get you out into the fresh air. Things like cornhole, frisbee, and Wiffle ball will bring you back to your childhood and create memories with your kids or friends.

Then there are things like mountain bikes to get out into the woods and raise the adrenaline up a notch. When you are tired from all the excitement or it is raining, then board games are going to take over and provide hours of entertainment.

Cleaning supplies

Chances are that the cabin is just bare-bones in there. You’ll need to bring things from home to make sure you can make it homey there as well. Cleaning up will be a challenge if you don’t bring your own cleaning supplies.

Make sure to have a broom and mop to do the regular cleaning to keep the dirt and dust out. But also bring along things like white vinegar in case it needs to be disinfected. Bars of soap and even things like laundry pins should be included to make sure that you are able to keep things tidy so you can enjoy your time there fully.

Appropriate clothing

Keep in mind that the weather at the cabin will be different than back home. Bring clothes that will be appropriate for the difference. It is likely to be cooler at night so a sweatshirt is going to be a big plus. And chances are that you will see some rain so make sure to bring some lightweight rain gear so you can get out even in the inclement weather. But if you’re not sure what clothes will keep you comfortable, safe, and protected in your outdoor adventures, here at SenseOrient is a list of the top 24 brands that offer all-weather gear for every occasion. From backpacking to weekend hikes or just walking around town, these clothing manufacturers have got you covered with everything from hats to gloves to jackets—and even footwear!

First aid

Accidents happen so make sure to have a first aid kit to take along. It should have disinfectants like Witch Hazel or some rubbing alcohol to clean wounds. Bandages, scissors, tweezers, and wraps will help.
