One of the best ways to reduce your waste is to start looking into reusable options. Thankfully, there are now many reusables on the market and here is an extensive list for you to choose from:

My eco topics category is my latest addition to my blog. I decided to make changes to my lifestyle in 2018 because I knew we needed to take steps to become more eco-friendly. It began with the change to reusable nappies and wipes and from there I made a promise to continue to try and find other ways to improve our wasteful ways and at the same time offer up tips, advice and hopefully inspire others.
Making these changes has had such a positive impact on us as a family. We are enjoying finding new ways of doing things, we love talking about it with others and we are saving money too! Such a win! Eco topics are now a huge passion of mine and I hope you will enjoy them as much as we are.

Zero Waste Week: 7 Simple Steps You Can Take
Reducing your waste doesn’t have to be hard or daunting, in fact, the simpler the changes you make, the more likely they will stick for years and years to come. This Zero Waste Week I want to show how you can make a positive impact without completely overhauling your life. Yesterday I quickly covered a few things to get you started and today I want to expand on that by giving 7 simple zero waste steps you can take.

Zero Waste Week: Where Do I Start with Reducing Waste?
Just like Plastic Free July, Zero Waste Week is a fantastic focus to encourage more of us to look at what changes we can make in our lives in order to reduce our household waste.
What Is Zero Waste Week?
“Zero Waste Week was founded by Rachelle Strauss in 2008 and began as a National UK Campaign. Campaigns last a week and take place annually during the first full week in September.
The campaign runs predominantly on social media and the website ZeroWasteWeek to reach a community of like-minded people who want to reduce residential or commercial waste, reuse materials and recycle as much as possible. The aim of the campaign is to help householders, businesses, schools and community groups increase recycling, reduce landfill waste and participate in the circular economy – in alignment with European recommendations and Directives.
Zero Waste Week was created as a non-commercial grassroots campaign to demonstrate means and methods to reduce waste, foster community support and bring awareness to the increasing problem of environmental waste and pollution”

7 Fantastic Sustainable Bathroom Product Ideas

When it comes to making your home a little more sustainable, I always say to start small, look at what you think is possible for you to change and start in one room. The bathroom is probably one of the most popular rooms for you to begin with because this is the room that has an awful lot of plastic staring at you each time you enter and as there are plenty of plastic-free alternatives now available these should help you to choose which items you could swap out quite easily. Of course, as with all eco changes, not all will work for you and that’s ok. Making more sustainable choices for the planet has to be sustainable for you, there is no point in struggling on when it doesn’t work for you or you know you won’t be able to keep it up. We all have different lifestyles and needs and this journey is all about you, nobody else. To give you a good starting point, I have teamed up with SaveMoneyCutCarbon to bring you these 7 fantastic sustainable bathroom product ideas…

10 Ways To Be An Eco-Friendly Dog Owner
*Ad
As a pet owner, I am always conscious of what we purchase, what waste we produce (or they produce) and how even our beloved animals also come with a carbon footprint – yes, that’s right even our pets contribute towards global warming. In the UK alone we are reported to own around 12 million pets – that’s 44% of us who own a pet of some variety, so what exactly does this look like in terms of emissions?

Wild Deodorant Review
*Information correct at the time of writing this review. In 2025, Wild was bought out by the (unsustainable) company Unilever so you will need to do your own research into this. I no longer support Wild due to this fact.
Finding a sustainable, plastic-free, natural deodorant has probably been one of the hardest parts of making my lifestyle more eco-friendly. I have tried many brands over the last couple of years and I find that they either don’t work at all, they are messy to apply or they have dried my skin out so much that it has cracked and become extremely painful. I needed a product that was in the middle ground. One that could work on my sweating but wasn’t hard to use. I’d heard great things about Wild deodorant from other people so I thought I would give it a try and here are my thoughts…
