I have been working with the wonderful SaveMoneyCutCarbon all year and each month I get the opportunity to talk to you about different eco products that could help to save the environment whilst saving you money. This month I have had the chance to focus on just one brand, one I haven’t ever tried before, so it has been really nice to be introduced to it and to find that there are even more amazing eco companies around. Here is my review of their Ecozone products…
Ecozone is a family run business that strives to provide vegan, cruelty-free, natural and safe cleaning products for your home.
“Plants are the inspiration behind all of our formulas. It’s our belief that no one should have to think too hard about how to lead a sustainable life, we feel it should just be. To help make it second nature, we went back to nature“
With around 100 products now available for cleaning, laundry, drain blockages, dishwashing, bin bags and so on, there should be something for everyone within their range.
Inside my SaveMoneyCutCarbon box this month I received the Ecozone dishwasher tablets, pure oxygen tablets, a magnoball, drain cleaning sticks and bin liners.

Ecozone Products Review
Ecozone Dishwasher tablets
These plastic-free, plant-based dishwasher tablets are a great alternative to pods and similar products we tend to find on the supermarket shelves. The biggest issue with using a lot of these other brands is that they use chemicals that can be harmful to our waterways and wildlife so if you can steer away from these you will be taking big steps in helping to protect our environment.
The first thing to note about these tablets is that they look at first as though they are individually wrapped in plastic, but this isn’t the case. It is a natural soluble wrap that you leave on, meaning the only leftover waste from the product is the cardboard box which can be recycled. In terms of performance, these tablets are brilliant. I haven’t seen any issues, no residue, no chalky marks and my kitchen items have all come out really clean. Ecozone says that they will perform just as well on a low heat too (I use my eco setting on my dishwasher).
Ecozone Pure Oxygen Laundry Whitening Tablets
As a busy parent the last thing I want to be doing is scrubbing marks out of white clothing and bedding but how do you get these back to their best without the need for chemicals? It is a really tough one as so many products seem to contain a lot of ingredients that look far from natural! Thankfully, Ecozone have these fantastic laundry whitening tablets which can be simply thrown into the drum on top of your whites and will work their magic during the wash.
I am often dubious with products like this because I have struggled with many (big) named brands in the past but I was blown away by these tablets. I tested them on our white bedding which was in a pretty bad state. With 2 children, a dog and a cat plus both me and Rob having had colds in the last week, it was in dire need of a good clean. I popped it onto an eco wash using my normal eco laundry powder and conditioner and just added the tablet.
As soon as I pulled part of the bedding out of the machine I could instantly see the difference. They have really brought it all up back up and I can’t wait to try them on all of our whites now!
What is a magnoball I hear you ask? Well, it is in fact a limescale remover for your washing machine and dishwasher, and as somebody who lives in a heavy limescale area, I welcomed this Ecozone product. The Magnoball uses magnetic technology to help to soften your water and preventing limescale build-up from happening in the pipework and drums. This is a long-term solution that can be used in every cycle below 60 degrees.
I have been using mine in the top rack of my dishwasher but I can’t say I have seen the effects as this is most definitely something that will take quite a while to observe but I am really excited to have found a product that is natural, gentle and reusable. I will not only be preventing any nasties from going into waterways but I will also be saving money in the long run.
Ecozone Drain Cleaning Sticks
Ecozone Drain Sticks use powerful natural bacteria and enzymes to prevent build-ups and eliminate odours that can occur in your sinks. They can break down almost anything that could lead to a blockage and smells in the kitchen as well as the bathroom and are perfect for use in any sink that has a U bend.
All you have to do is remove a stick and place it down the plughole. Each stick is handily labelled by month which means you will never forget! With regular use, you shouldn’t see drain issues.
Biodegradable Bin Liners
These Ecozone bin liners are not only very strong but they are also really large and 100% biodegradable. With so much heading for landfill, it can be hard to know what to do for the best as we all know the conditions are not right for most items to breakdown but if we can give it a bit more a chance we have to at least try don’t we? Most bin bags are made entirely from plastic which means it basically becomes a suffocating wrap for everything inside of it. Biodegradable bags should breakdown much faster and not leave a trace behind.
I can confirm that we found these to be extremely strong and far better than the usual black bin liners we are used to using.
I was really impressed with all of these eco-products and am really pleased to see how easy switching over to eco cleaning can now be. Nothing here was a faff, nothing was confusing or complicated, they are just simply a natural alternative to what we have all previously used.
