Review | Lazy Bear Recycled PET Foldable Bum Bags

As a busy family and dog owners we are never seen out and about without some sort of bag but what I realised during the summer months was that it started to become quite tiresome always carrying one. There wasn’t any way we could get around it, not with a potty training toddler, the warm weather (meaning we needed water) plus long walks where we’d need snacks so we just got on with it but I was then asked by TrendHim to review some of their Lazy Bear recycled PET Lawson grey and red foldable bum bags and they have been a complete gamechanger.
About The Lazy Bear Foldable Bum Bags
These Lazy Bear Foldable Bum Bags are made from 100% recycled plastic. Yep, each one was once a plastic bottle and now they are these stylish and handy bum bags! I am all for repurposing and recycling our items and waste which is why I was so drawn to this product.
The bum bags have an adjustable buckle strap which allows you to easily adjust the size depending on what you are wearing that day. It can be worn either to the front, back or side of your waist or simply thrown over your shoulder. The bags have 4 zipped pockets making them ideal for carrying a selection of items and ensuring they are all where you can find them and placed securely away.
The Lawson grey and red bum bags can be folded when not in use which will reduce the storage space needed and keep them at their best. When fully open they are incredibly roomy. The full dimensions are:
Folded: 8 11/16″ x 5 5/16″ x 1 3/16″ (22 cm x 13.5 cm x 3 cm)
Unfolded: 11″ x 7 1/4″ x 2 3/8″ (28 cm x 18.5 cm x 6 cm)
Waist size: up to 55 1/8″ (up to 140 cm)

First Impressions
When the bum bags arrived I was so surprised at how neat and small they looked when folded up. Due to this, as I unfolded them, I really wasn’t expecting much but I was so surprised at their overall size!
The material immediately felt like a great quality and you’d never know it was made from recycled plastic. From the off, the bum bags feel sturdy, substantial, tough and I love the fact they have 4 useful compartments for storing your items.
Wearing a Bum Bag
I must admit that I haven’t worn a bum bag since the 90’s when they were in fashion so it has taken a bit of adjustment from me to get used to wearing one again. Luckily the bum bags are both very comfortable and easy to fit so all you have to get your head around it wearing something on your waist rather than on your back.
And, of course, you can wear them however it feels the most natural to you…
The front wear is great for dog walking but wearing the bum bag to the side or at the back is ideal if you want to carry a baby or toddler.
Taking Them Out
And what could I carry in the bum bags? Well…
- Keys
- Phone
- Dog treats
- Dog poo bags
- Reusable wipes
- Snacks
- Water bottle
As long as you organise the compartments and think about what you’d need when out and about you can really get so much in them.

Using The Bum Bags
We’ve been trying the Lawson grey and red bum bags for a few weeks now and they have been so handy for our dog walks and being out with the kids. I tend to keep them packed so they are ready to grab as soon as we are ready and because they aren’t at all bulky like a backpack can be, they can fit over or under a jumper or coat, they can be quickly adjusted for fit and they don’t get in the way whatsoever.
If you are a dog owner I cannot recommend these enough. I have so many coat and trouser pockets stuffed with treats and bags which can be uncomfortable for wearing and a pain when it comes to emptying them for washing. These bum bags allow you to carry all you need whilst keeping your hands and pockets free. It is so easy to grab what you need from them whilst on your walk because you always have easy access. Oh and when your dog knows there are treats in there, it also makes training a breeze!
I particularly like the fact that the zips all have these orange tabs to make them easier to hold and pull open. I would say the only drawback is that the bum bags aren’t waterproof so if you have a leak from a water bottle or it rains, things can quickly get wet. However, when it does rain heavily, you can just wear the bum bag underneath your coat for protection.
Of course, one of the biggest positives is how they look. Even though they are roomy, they aren’t at all bulky and I found them to look sleek with whatever I had on. I also like the finish of the material as it looks matt, well made and will suit everybody.
Overall Thoughts
Overall, these get a huge thumbs up from us. They have made our walks simpler, allowed us to be prepared, have met our needs and will get years and years of use.
