Zero Waste Make-Up Remover
*Ad (brand ambassador)
When it comes to looking for eco-friendly make-up removers it can be hard to tick all of the boxes – plastic-free, cruelty-free, actually works, smells nice, feels nice, plus having something non-faffy and really simple to use. In the past, I have used lotions in plastic bottles with cotton wool pads and I never liked the sensation on my face or the waste it was creating. Why do so many products feel as though they are just sitting on top of your skin?! Yes, there are now many more brands out there offering reusable make-up remover pads with their more eco-friendly products but what if you want something even simpler? Here is my solution to finding the perfect zero waste make-up remover.
Vanilla Geranium Cleansing Balm
The Vanilla Geranium Cleansing Balm from Beeutiful is all I use (along with a face cloth/flannel) to remove the days make-up, dirt, grime and grease build-up. Handmade in Fleet, Hampshire, this balm contains only natural ingredients including Jojoba seed oil, Coconut oil, cocoa butter, Beeswax, Vitamin E, Benzoin, Vanilla Extract, Grapefruit, Geranium and more, that will work with your skin, not against it, to clean, hydrate, protect and heal.

Using The Balm
The balm is so simple to use. Place your required amount onto your fingertips and begin massaging it onto your face. As the warmth from your fingers and face meet the balm, it really starts to take effect by working into your skin, spreading across effortlessly and bringing out its amazing aroma. If you like the scents you find in a spa, you will love this!
You can choose to massage the balm into your skin for as long as you require but it is easy to see and feel when your make-up is starting to come away. If I am wearing a lot of makeup I make sure I really pay close attention to getting it over all areas of my face and will work it in for just a little bit longer (say after a night out). For an average amount of make-up, you should be able to see the balm bringing it away in no time at all.
If my skin has been especially dry, lacklustre or tired, I will spend a lot more time allowing the cleansing balm to be absorbed, almost like doing my own mini facial. The massaging action is great for blood flow and the extra time allows it to soak in and work its magic! Once I feel that the make-up and grime has broken down sufficiently, I take a wet cloth or flannel and simply wipe it all away.
Make-Up Free
The make-up comes off so easily this way and you don’t ever need to scrub, rub your skin or use more product. The cleansing balm does its job gently and effectively with just one application.
A Great Feeling
Once I have patted my face dry with a towel, I am always left with an amazing feeling across my skin. It feels soft and silky, hydrated and deeply cleaned. Because it really feeds the skin, there isn’t always a need for much moisturiser either – I use the same brand’s B-Rose facial Balm to moisturise as they work to complement one another.

Zero Waste
The cleansing balm is zero waste as the glass jar and aluminium lid can both be recycled or saved for repurposing and your flannel can be washed time and time again.
And that’s it, my very simple zero waste make-up remover that is not only kind to my skin but also to our planet. To get 10% off your order just use the code Emma10 at the checkout on Beeutiful’s website.
