Get The Joseph Gordon-Levitt Style
*Collaborative Post
Joseph Gordon-Levitt (or as some affectionately call him, JGL) is a long-standing star. Starting his career young, he entertained us from a child into adulthood on the hit show 3rd Rock From the Sun and has since gone on to make outstanding movies including A River Runs Through It, Looper, 50/50 and Inception.
He has a very distinct style, and fashion blogs just cannot get enough of it. He can pull off anything from a well-tailored suit to a t-shirt and jeans. Here are our top tips on how to pull off the Joseph look but if you are after more check out the Joseph Gordon-Levitt lookbook, for a bigger selection of style-stealing tips.
Suits
The important thing here is that the suit you choose is tailored. If it’s not tailored to fit your body, you won’t be getting that JGL style. Despite the cost, it is most definitely worth it to find perfection in a suit in order to get the fit. Another staple of his style is the skinny tie. He is often seen in a white shirt with black tie but you can easily tailor this to your own tastes and can go big and bright too. This is a statement piece and it should be seen!
Casual Attire
Casual doesn’t have to mean sloppy. JGL knows how to rock the button down, blazer, and jeans combination. Dark skinny jeans look great with dress shoes and if you leave the shirt untucked, it’s even more casual. Also, try trousers with a worn chambray button down.
Joseph also tends to pair dark trousers with light tops to balance out his look. Leave buttons on top undone, skip the belt, or casually roll up the sleeves to make your look effortless and perfect.
Smart Casual
You can even look classy in a t-shirt and jeans if you opt for a fitted top and great quality. JGL wears everything with a purpose. Small accessories like a timeless tie bar or no accessories make you look good without making it look like you’re trying too hard.
Take a cue from Joseph Gordon-Levitt and invest in classic style choices and good tailoring to make sure you always look your best.
