Looking after the environment is at the forefront of everyone’s minds nowadays. As a business, there are actually lots of things you can do to try and cut down your carbon footprint and do your bit for the planet. While considering how to go green in your business practices, you may also think about setting up a legal business entity to protect your brand and assets. If Florida is your designated state and you’ve decided on an LLC as the suitable structure for your eco-friendly venture, getting a grasp on how to open an llc in Florida could be highly beneficial. Such knowledge would further streamline your business processes and make your journey more effective and efficient. You don’t have to make hundreds of huge changes. Sometimes, the smaller changes can have the biggest impact and can make the biggest difference. So, here are some simple steps you can take to help your business go green.

Promote Other Forms Of Commuting

CO2 emissions are damaging the planet at a rapid pace, so it’s vital that we cut down on them when and where we can. Encouraging your staff to use alternative means of travel when commuting is one of the best ways you can do this. For example, offer a cycle to work scheme and install Sheffield cycle stands so they can have somewhere secure to leave their bikes. You could even contact local transport services and see if they’ll offer a discount to your employees. Promoting less harmful ways of travelling to work to your employees is a great way to reduce your carbon footprint and get more cars off the road. You should also mention that it saves a lot of money too!

Switch Off

In the workplace, there are lots of electrical goods that need to be powered up each day. However, leaving them on overnight and during weekends is extremely damaging to the environment. Every kilowatt of energy that is wasted during these times is energy that we’ve had to produce. The more energy that we need to produce, the more damage we do to the planet. Instead, make sure to switch everything off when it’s not in use and whatever you do, don’t leave the lights on 24/7! Cut down on your wasted energy and you’ll be halfway to being as green a business as you can be.

Ditch The Plastic

Single use plastic is everywhere, but you really should try and cut down on it within your business. This means changing up your packaging to recyclable or biodegradable versions and even switching the water cups at the dispensers to recyclable materials instead. Moving away from plastic that will only end up in the landfill will help your business to become eco-friendly in no time, and it won’t have any negative impacts on your business. In fact, it will actually improve a lot of areas and you’ll be wondering why you didn’t do it before.

Change Energy Providers

You can’t avoid using energy when running a business, so it’s important that you look for a provider that can offer you energy from sustainable sources. There are lots of options out there and it’s not hard to switch either. Switching providers won’t have any impact on the amount of electricity you receive either, nor will you run out if it’s not sunny or windy. When solar or wind energy is generated, it’s then stored and used when needed. You may find that your tariff charges drop considerably as well. You’ll feel better knowing that you’re not draining unsustainable resources from the planet and actually taking a step towards renewable energy.

Have You Considered Buying an Eco-Friendly Franchise?

There are many ways to make a difference and protect the planet these days. In fact, now there are even eco-friendly franchise opportunities that provide you with a proven method and system to follow to earn a sustainable income and help the planet simultaneously. It’s a win-win, right? If you want to learn more about the different eco-friendly franchises for sale, we recommend you use a trusted marketplace of franchise opportunities such as Franchise UK.

Being an eco-friendly business does take a little bit of effort on your part, but it’s all worth it in the grand scheme of things. You don’t need to do a complete rehaul of your business to become greener either. Changing things like your packaging and energy provider can be enough to really drive change. So, if you’re interested in taking the smart steps towards saving the planet, be sure to utilise these tips and implement them into your business.
