Why We Are Taking Our Child Out Of School To Go On Holiday

Ok, so as you know by now we are off to Florida in March. What I haven’t mentioned is the fact that we are going during term time and so we will be taking Jake out of school but there are good reasons for this. No, they may not be good enough for the school or Government to accept but for us, we need to do this.

You see, what they may not class as exceptional circumstances Continue reading “Why We Are Taking Our Child Out Of School To Go On Holiday”

7 Reasons Why Our Florida Holiday Is Going To Be Amazing

*Collaborative post

I am so excited to be writing this post because by actually writing it down it makes it all so much more real… We are going to Florida! Since I was a child I have dreamt of walking barefoot down those beautiful white sandy beaches, paddling in the brilliant blue sea, exploring the varied coastline and of course, visiting Disney World! Continue reading “7 Reasons Why Our Florida Holiday Is Going To Be Amazing”

What Can I Expect When Flying with a Baby?

This is probably the most common question I googled prior to our family holiday this year; ‘What can I expect when flying with a baby?’ I had no idea. I didn’t know if it would be a hassle manoeuvring my way through the airport, I didn’t know if the baby would sleep or scream, I didn’t know how the other passengers would react and so on.  Continue reading “What Can I Expect When Flying with a Baby?”

Top Tips For Keeping Your Luggage Weight Down When Travelling With Children

So, we made it to our destination but it wasn’t without a little trouble with our luggage at check-in. We knew we were going to be over, it was inevitable in our eyes. I mean, we have 2 children, 1 being a baby and we were coming away for 2 weeks. We had only been allocated 15 kg per person and I know what I’m like for overpreparing and packing for every possible scenario. I just can’t help myself, Continue reading “Top Tips For Keeping Your Luggage Weight Down When Travelling With Children”

Flying with a Baby Checklist

We are about to embark on our very first holiday abroad with a baby. We first took Jake aged 2 and even though he was still in nappies, he had far fewer needs. As long as he had toys, games and stickers he was a happy boy! So, this year he is 4 and the tablet is probably going to be played the entire time (if he has his way!) but William is just 5 months which has made me feel a little more anxious. But to combat this I have done my research and this is my flying with a baby checklist: Continue reading “Flying with a Baby Checklist”

Buck the Trend and Go North This Summer

Come the summer months almost everyone going on holiday will plan a trip south for sun, sea and sand. While this is a lovely way to spend a fortnight, and there is nothing wrong with reading by the pool, it isn’t the most imaginative way to spend your time.

If you are a traveller by nature, you are doing yourself down by going on the same holidays over and again. You can still go on a pool holiday every now and then, but it’s time to think more creatively and buck the trend. Continue reading “Buck the Trend and Go North This Summer”

Why Hawaii is my Ultimate Holiday Dream

Seeing the world has always been something I have been drawn to and even though I love the UK there is so much more I want to see and experience. I must admit I’ve never been one to consider travelling for a long period of time and I certainly wouldn’t want to hostel it around Europe, I’m just not good at ‘roughing it’! Instead, I am perfectly happy to see the world gradually, taking a different holiday each year and eventually getting to those countries that are on my ultimate dream list to visit, one of my top ones being Hawaii.
