Time To Put A Spring In Your Step When It Comes To Your Garden
*Collaborative Post
The weather is certainly warming up, and with the clocks now springing forward and us losing that precious hour of sleep, it really is time to start thinking about the garden. Not all of us are green-fingered, but that doesn’t mean that we can’t have a usable space outside for our children or a garden that we can enjoy in those up and coming warm summer evenings. Let’s face it, they aren’t too far away. So here are some of the things you can start doing now to revamp your garden this spring.
Take some time to give your lawn some TLC
Your lawn may not have had any love at all over the winter months. With snow, ice, frost and heavy rain, it might need some care and attention. Once the weather has dried it out a bit, the first spring job will probably be to give it a cut and trim. Doing that helps to condition your grass area, and also enables you to then think about spreading some grass seed to help it grow and be fuller. Further to that, lawn feed can also help build up the grass area, making it look vibrant and green.
Add some new features to your garden
Maybe the garden has been on the decorating list for some time and you now want to take the chance to renovate? It could mean that you want to add a new feature. The trend of adding ponds to gardens is now coming back in full swing and with things like pond liners being able to be purchased easily online, it is now easier than ever to add this feature. Others to think about could be a new walkway or patio area for dining, or maybe adding a decked area in your garden. Perfect for lounging on when the weather gets warmer.
Prune those flower beds and plant some new ones
Just like the lawn, the flowerbeds may not have had any attention during the winter and you may now be overrun with things like weeds. While it may seem like a big job, once you get started with the weeding process, you will start to see big improvements in the way it looks and know exactly what space you have to work with. You can then start to think about planting seeds or bulbs for flowers or maybe venture into planting your own fruit and vegetables? Spring is a great time to get growing in your garden.
Paint the fence panels
The fence can take a beating with wind and storms during the winter, so it might be the time to treat those panels with creosote and paint. It can also be a great way to spruce up the look of your garden. People are now considering painting the fence panels in different colours, something bright or maybe even a neutral grey or brown option.
Add a shed or storage option
Finally, you will want to try and keep the garden tidy and clutter-free, so it may be time to think about investing in a shed or storage option. Right now you may be able to pick up some great bargains as we enter into the spring and summer months.
Let’s hope this has given you some inspiration to get out in your garden this Spring and spruce things up.
