When it comes to creating rooms in a house, every detail counts and even though I am no interior design whizz, I do take pride in making my home look and feel nice whilst adding unique touches that make it ‘us’. One of the rooms that I am particularly in love with is William’s nursery. When I chose a nautical theme I never imagined it would result in such a comfortable and calming space but I am so glad it has.

It is a room that can be played in, can be chilled out in, can be a quiet zone for reading or listening to music and is one that just feels as though it takes you away from where you really are. There are so many parts of the room that were handpicked by me, that were upcycled by me and were carefully selected to bring the theme to life and even though it has now been finished for 3 years, I am always looking for ways to bring more nautical love into it which is why when Crafty Cut-Outs asked us to review a print and I cast my eyes over the “Life’s a Beach” image, I was very, very excited!

About Crafty Cut-Outs

Crafty Cut-Outs is a brand new, family-run business start-up based in Royal Leamington Spa which began during lockdown 2020. Having always wanted to run their own business the current climate inadvertently allowed this to happen (every cloud, eh?!) and the dream of being able to provide fun, colourful, fresh and exciting prints to market was made possible.

All of their designs are brought carefully to life by hand. Each illustration is hand-drawn and then the designs are digitally produced from high quality, gallery-grade mountboard. The look is finished off by layering patterns and prints behind the cut-out windows to give you a wonderfully beautiful piece which is then presented in a fresh, modern frame. They also offer a fully bespoke service to allow you to create a one-off Crafty Cut-Outs creation completely unique to you.

And to make it even better they are also very passionate about sustainability and protecting the environment which means that they only use recycled and FSC responsibly sourced materials for both their products and their packaging.

Crafty Cut-Outs Review

Ordering

You can browse and order your chosen Crafty Cut-Outs image on their Etsy page here. You simply choose your design option and frame type, check the estimated delivery time, you can add a note to the company if required and place your order (there is a delivery charge which is stated). My order was processed very quickly and with me within a week. I have also chatted with Crafty Cut-Outs via email to arrange this collaboration and I found them to be very efficient, quick to respond and polite.

Packaging

Being somebody who is trying their best to reduce waste and living more eco-friendly I loved the fact that the packaging stated that is was 100% recyclable on the outside and that this was clear for the customer to see and be able to act on. The image was then carefully wrapped in bubble wrap (which I will reuse) and pretty printed paper (which again I will reuse).

First Impressions

I loved the design the moment I saw it on Etsy but it was far more stunning in real life. The pretty, colourful stripes sitting against the white backdrop just pop out at you and I couldn’t wait to get it up on the wall in William’s room.

The Final Look

I had always wanted something in the space next to the window in this room but I hadn’t yet found the perfect something… And then the “Life’s a Beach” image arrived! And I think you can just see from my photos that it is the perfect fit. The colours and tones sit nicely with the nursery shades and the origami boats running up the next wall make a beautiful backdrop.
