Having a comfortable period is something that is at the top of every person’s list. We all know that ‘that time of the month’ can bring PMS symptoms, aches, migraines, cramps and so on so the last thing anybody wants is to feel a bit yucky down below. Over the last few years, we have considered getting a security system on several occasions. With the rise in footfall in our street, with us living on a corner, having a young family and hearing reports of crime being on the rise, we started to wonder what the best method would be in order to feel safer. There are so many options available and a lot seemed to be a bit complicated with a lot of professional installation required which isn’t something we really wanted to do as we aren’t sure how long we will be here anyway. Reusable Water Balloons Review

Many years ago, before I fully realised the impact we were having on the environment with our disposable lifestyles, we would buy Jake those cheap single-use water balloons that went onto a hose. After several uses, I came to realise that a.) they were a complete waste of money and b.) that it was impossible to pick up every tiny piece that had broken away and I was left finding them in flower beds, in the grass etc for months afterwards. I very quickly put a stop to us purchasing them and I felt incredibly guilty for it each time he would see them in the shops and ask for them. I mean, I get it, it is so much fun for a child and you don’t want to let them down, but I knew I couldn’t allow this needless waste to happen in our home. So, when The Clever Cactus showed reusable water balloons on her social media channels a little while ago, I knew I had found the perfect solution! Here is a little more on what they are, how they work and what we think of them.

I’ve been a fan of The Clever Cactus for a while now and have previously purchased several items from her online store including baby wipes and reusable water balloons. The funky prints and great eco-friendly ideas really stood out to me and, as you know, I love to support a small local business, so I was absolutely thrilled when Steph messaged asking if I would like to be a brand ambassador for her. This is the first of my reviews for her and we have kick-started our collaboration with me trying out her CSP (cloth sanitary pads) and liners range.

One of the most important aspects for an on the go, outdoorsy family like us is ensuring that we always have everything we need. That unfortunately usually results in us taking 2 or 3 different sized bags out with us each time due to the fact that we don’t a bag that can hold it all. This has been such a hassle because, as we all know, once you are out with kids you need to have easy access to items like spare clothes, nappies, wipes and snacks at all times and fiddling around with a variety of bags just doesn’t cut it. Getting the perfect family photo can be tricky, can’t it? In fact, we have so very few of all us together that when I was trying to find some for photo frames, I spent ages scrolling through my laptop and could only find one. Yes, we have lots of funny selfies but I want to be able to look back at all of us as a family and have fond memories of us having fun together. We haven’t ever had a family photo session, not a maternity one, not a newborn one, and each time I looked around for some I was always put off by the staged images in a white studio– that just isn’t us.

Hippynut Reusable Nappy Review

We made the switch to cloth nappies over 2 years ago now and I will still say that it was the best eco-friendly decision we have made to date. I am so happy that we have been using cloth full time since William was 6 months old and have completely moved away from disposables– I just wish I’d known about them with my first! Over the last couple of years, we have come to use a range of different nappy types and brands so when a brand new company comes to the table it is always an exciting time. It really does show that the reusable nappy industry is growing and that more and more parents are eager to become more eco-friendly. Hippynut is one such new company and when they asked me to review their brand new all in one nappy I was over the moon (what cloth nappy mum doesn’t like trying new nappies, eh?!)
