Review | Leaf and Root Luxury Eco-Friendly Cosmetics

*Gifted Products

Being more eco-friendly doesn’t stop with ditching those plastic bags or using natural cleaners, for me it is a lifestyle change which means finding businesses and solutions for all areas. I want to be able to say that I am doing the absolute best that I can, I want to know that my carbon footprint is being significantly reduced and feel happy that I am keeping my waste to a minimum. And once you start looking for products you will be pleasantly surprised by how many are available to us, it’s just the case of changing how we shop (not everything needs to come from the supermarket!) Toiletries, cosmetics and other self-care items all tend to come to us wrapped in plastic, contain a variety of perfumes and chemicals and are often tested on animals before coming to us. All of which we all want stopping but the only way to achieve this is by showing these companies that we no longer want products like these and the best course of action is to shop elsewhere and to shop eco.

Review | The Massage Company, Camberley

*Gifted Massage

As a busy Mum of 2, I am always promising myself I will take better care of my body and general well-being but in reality, life can be just too much of a juggle and it’s not until something really happens that I sit up and take notice. That something just recently was my back giving in. As in, I was busy tidying up in the house one minute and laying flat on the floor the next! I’d known there was some tightness in my back and hips, I was very aware that each time I stood up my pelvis took some time to align and I looked like an 80-year-old woman, yet, I put off seeing anybody because I simply did not have the time. Such an excuse, isn’t it? If that was one of my children I would have found them help as soon as they told me something was hurting, but because it was me, I just left it. Luckily, not long after, The Massage Company got in touch with me asking if I could pop along and review a massage at their Camberley Centre. What perfect timing!

7 Parenting Hacks For Squeezing in Some ‘Me Time’

I think I mention ‘me time around 10 times a year and am always focussing on how to find the time, trying to arrange a babysitter or working out how to balance it all but what if you could have ‘me time’ around the kids? What if you found that time during the daily routine and without having the stress of feeling guilty for it? Well, you can! Yep, I have learnt that life cannot always be organised, that illnesses crop up and ruin plans and that trying to plan in that time solely for me usually never actually happens so I have had to come up with other ways of taking care of myself whilst taking care of my boys. Here are my 7 parenting hacks for squeezing in some ‘me time’.

Why I Need to be a Little More Selfish

Just recently I’ve noticed that life has once again got on top of me. It’s funny because around this time last year I finally fully acknowledged the fact that I had been struggling emotionally and mentally for far too long and I secretly booked myself in for counselling. It went really well and turned out to be one of the best things I could have done for myself (I think everyone could benefit from this type of self-care). I don’t want to go into full details here as it will cause this post to go off on a tangent (as I often do!) but if you want to find out more on this topic you can read about my counselling journey here.

Anyway, back to now and my problems aren’t quite as deep or big but are tied to the fact that I never actually do anything for me.
