The Importance of Sleep for Children… and You!!

**Collaborative Post

As a parent, I reckon that around 95% of my conversations revolve around sleep (or lack of!) It’s funny, isn’t it? As soon as a baby is born we turn the parents and one of the first things we ask them is how are they sleeping? We continually look for solutions to supposed ‘sleep issues’, we heavily discuss it amongst our new Mum friends and spend hours working out which sleep tactics are the best. And so begins the never-ending cycle of talking about sleep…

Sleep Sanctuary: Turn Your Bedroom into a Parent’s Paradise

*Collaborative Post

A child-free bedroom is something of a dream for many parents. From co-sleeping to your toddler crawling into your bed in the middle of the night, it’s hard to keep them out. But parents should still be able to get some time to themselves, and your bedroom can be a sanctuary where you get to relax and have some peace – at least, some of the time. If you want your bedroom to be somewhere you can feel is mostly yours, if not entirely your own, a redesign could be what you need. While baby things have their place, moving most things to another room could be the best idea.

“Say Hello” Tummy Time Discovery Toy Review

*Gifted Product

Development for William may come at different stages due to his prematurity but one thing I am very positive about doing is providing plenty of sensory stimulation for him. As he has now been out for 19 weeks, his little mind wants to do so much more than his body can manage as he should only really be 11 weeks old. He has become frustrated with laying on the floor, he loves to have something to help him up and he adores watching toys, looking at bright colours and being interacted with. I remember how much my first son hated tummy time but to help us out, my cousin loaned us her tummy time cushion. It was such a useful baby product in aiding Jake in his movement so when Baby Sensory contacted us to review their “Say Hello” Tummy Time Discovery Toy I knew it would be a hit with William.

Everything You Need to Take Your Baby Swimming

*Amazon Affiliate Links

I remember when we first took Jake swimming as a 10-week old baby. Oh, the naivety. I had assumed that he would love it, I had assumed that other children would be more careful around a baby, I thought it would be beautifully warm and we would be in there for a while… not quite! He kinda liked it, other children don’t really care how much they splash you and he got cold, so cold that his lips turned blue. So it lasted about ten minutes and that was that, his very first swim over in a flash. But we were first-time parents. We hadn’t been swimming ourselves for years and we certainly hadn’t done our research into what was available for babies to make their experience better.

*Gifted Product

Gardening for me has become a hobby that I love and with each year that we live here, I am even more determined to perfect ours. Unfortunately, our gardening tools are starting to fail us and we’ve been living with a secondhand lawnmower that has the handle taped together in a desperate attempt to save it for a little longer and a grass trimmer that gave up the ghost years ago– leaving me to trim all the border edges with garden scissors… yep, its a tedious job but the perfectionist in me just cannot leave it!
