As soon as I heard of the concept of the Life’s Little Bugs books I just knew they were right up our street and was over the moon when Tina, the author, asked me to review a set. She has brought together education with fun rhyming stories to teach children the importance of looking after themselves, one another and the environment. There are 7 books in the series and each has been entirely written plus illustrated by Tina. The illustrations are most definitely the first thing that draws you in. Each cover is a bright shade of green which not only catches your eye but also gives the sense of fun. The main character of each book also appear on the cover and they are all just so brilliant! When I heard that the ‘Room on the Broom’ production was coming to The Haymarket Theatre in Basingstoke, I just knew we had to go and see it. Julia Donaldson’s books have become a popular choice in our house along with the films, so to be able to see one brought to life on the stage I thought it was the perfect first show for Jake to attend.

A Look Back Over My First Year Writing and Blogging

Here we are, a few days away from 2017 and it has made me realise that my book has almost been out for an entire year which also means I have also been blogging for a year too. Why Teething?
From the moment that you discover you are pregnant you find yourself inundated with information. This ranges from how long you may get morning sickness for, to what to expect at your scan, what products you should be buying and reading many pregnancy books; as well as taking in every bit of advice you possibly can from those who have been there before. We attend antenatal classes to prepare for the birth and once baby is here there is support from midwives and health visitors. You find out all about breastfeeding, bottle feeding, nappy changes, weight gains or weight losses and postnatal depression; all of which is vital information when becoming a parent – especially if it’s your first time. I, however, feel that one area is overlooked and for some families it is a very big milestone which can take over both yours and your baby’s life………… Teething.
