Christmas is coming and when you have children it means it gets all that little more exciting, doesn’t it? I’ve found that with each year that Jake has got older, Christmas has become so much more to him (obviously it is also his birthday) and I am loving finding new ways to make it even more fun! Last year, we were lucky enough to be asked to review ‘The Truly Magical’ Magic Santa Letter so when they got into contact again this year I was so happy. With 2 little boys to think about now (I know, one is a baby but I’m all about the nostalgia!) I want to make these occasions as memorable and special as I can.

Teething, it’s not the most fun of times, is it? It is definitely something that comes up time and time again on parenting advice pages, it is a sure-fire way of becoming more sleep deprived and it is a huge talking point when you meet up with your friends (parent friends, of course, although I am guilty of boring the non-parent ones on this topic too!)

I think that the one thing we all in common is that we want to find a way of helping our little ones out by easing their discomfort and symptoms as quickly as possible, but with so many products on the market, this can become very confusing. As I have mentioned in previous posts, it is basically a case of trial and error as every baby is different (both mine have been) but one symptom you can usually guarantee is that all of them has that huge chewing urge!

As an ex-shoe shop manager, I have a thing about shoes. For starters, I love them! I have always owned far too many (much to the husband’s dismay) and I have always been drawn to great quality over cheap, throwaway items and gorgeous designs will get me every time. So, when my first child, Jake, began to walk it was inevitable that I would want well-fitting shoes, which would protect his feet, allow for growth and last. I am an advocate of good foot health and ensuring that your child’s feet are well-looked after from day one which is why he has never been put in anything that may jeopardise this.

Messy Me Splash Mat and Bib Review

Weaning has begun in our household and it’s messy! My first child, Jake, was a fusspot from day one. He only liked pureed food, he would even turn his nose up at some of those flavours and he was a choker… sigh, how does a baby choke on puree?! William, however, has proved he is the complete opposite from day one. He showed us he wanted food and he has certainly made it clear that pureed is ok but proper food is brilliant! He chomps away on anything and so far hasn’t shown any dislike for tastes or textures. The only downside is the extra mess I’ve been experiencing all over the floor, highchair and on him! So, when Messy Me asked me to review a splash mat and bib, it couldn’t have come at a better time.
