Staying fit and healthy during this pregnancy was something I had decided upon even before I fell with this little guy. I wouldn’t say that my first pregnancy was unhealthy but I wasn’t partaking in any exercise classes and I really did use being pregnant as an excuse to take things easy. This all changed after he was born and I have been actively going to workout classes since Jake was about a year old so my fitness and strength have both increased in the last 3 years. This has meant that since finding out I was expecting with baby number 2 I haven’t had to alter my usual workouts of using kettlebells, Barbells, Bulgarian bags, TRX and other activities within my HIIT classes because my body is used to the level I have been working at. Now that everybody is in the know about my pregnancy it means that I can begin to get excited about getting bigger and finding some gorgeous new maternity clothes for the upcoming months. I hardly showed with Jake and didn’t get that amazing round bump until I was roughly 8 months. This time around I have taken shape quite quickly and I’m already struggling with certain jeans and tops.

I don’t know about the rest of you but since becoming a Mother I have somewhat felt that I have lost my identity. I have been slowly drowning in baby paraphernalia, baby feeding, caring, nappy changes, weaning, teething, baby sick and feeling exhausted. It’s probably easily done in the first year but I am 2 1/2 years on and my days have been spent wearing the same jeans several times a week, grabbing the first top I see in my wardrobe and not noticing how worn out most of my clothes actually look.
