How To Create A Casual Look That Will Turn Heads

*Collaborative Post

As a parent, a casual look suits me. I can move about easily, I can bend down and pick up the toys for the 10th time that day, I can chase a toddler down the street and I can feel comfortable whilst doing it. However, when we think of casual we often think about it being drab but it really doesn’t have to be this way. Here’s how to create a casual look that will turn heads.

Top Tips For Staying Stylish After Having Kids

*Collaborative Post

After becoming a parent, understandably your focus shifts from yourself to your new-born baby. Children need a lot of care, love, and attention, especially when they are small. It’s very easy for us to become wrapped up in looking after our children and forget about looking after ourselves. It’s important to remember to take time for yourself. Being constantly with a young child can be tiring, combine that with constant interruptions, lack of sleep and your body recovering from pregnancy and birth, it’s no surprise that lots of parents end up burning out. Everyone needs and deserves a break and there’s no shame in that.

Embrace Your Fashion Mishaps; They’re Lessons

*Collaborative Post

The fashion industry is perceived as a liberating world that encourages people to express their personality through the means of clothes and accessories. From playful to professional, you can play a variety of characters depending on the outfits you choose to wear.

However, don’t be fooled by the apparent freedom you can gain from fashion. Fashion is only liberating if you do it right. Otherwise, you might struggle to convey the right message through your outfit. Consequently, fashion faux-pas, mishaps, and mistakes are commonly pointed out. Many enthusiastic fashionistas feel somehow limited by the fear of criticism. The truth is that you don’t want people to comment negatively on your look. Nevertheless, you shouldn’t let your fear of fashion failure – the infamous FFF – hold you from exploring the infinite possibilities of clothes. Every mistake you make is a lesson you can learn to improve your style. Nobody knows what works for them without testing. Trial and error is the quickest path to creating a look that is unique and engaging.

Creating Your New Summer Look for Less

*Collaborative Post

The summer will soon be here (we hope!) and what’s better than celebrating a new season with a new look? I must admit, I am awful for spending all my money on the children and they are often better dressed than me so this year I want to find what really suits me, I want to brighten up my wardrobe and I want to create a summery look and feel without spending a fortune.

Maternity Wear: The Good, The Bad and The Ugly

*Gifted Product

I have such a love-hate relationship with maternity wear. Don’t you find that there is such a gap in the market? We start to gain water and weight from before 12 weeks yet all the maternity wear is aimed at the size you are from around 7 months. Nothing fits from your normal wardrobe and you end up traipsing the shops for the very limited range of maternity clothes available to you. ‘Oh you can buy it online’ you hear time and time again but I don’t always want to buy online, I want to go into a shop, look at the sizes and try them on! And why are the styles mostly floaty, high necked, v-necked and with unflattering cut sleeves? Pregnant women are still the same people and even though their bodies change their tastes and fashion sense don’t; we want to feel like us as much as we can!

Dressing for a new you- 3 images of me in new clothes

Dressing For a New You

I don’t know about the rest of you but since becoming a Mother I have somewhat felt that I have lost my identity. I have been slowly drowning in baby paraphernalia, baby feeding, caring, nappy changes, weaning, teething, baby sick and feeling exhausted. It’s probably easily done in the first year but I am 2 1/2 years on and my days have been spent wearing the same jeans several times a week, grabbing the first top I see in my wardrobe and not noticing how worn out most of my clothes actually look.
