What It’s Like Giving Up Breastfeeding At 2 Years

This is a post I didn’t ever think I would be able to sit and write. 2 years? I almost made it to 2 years of breastfeeding! I cannot believe this journey turned out to be this long and I also cannot believe where 2 years has gone! After that difficult pregnancy, his premature start and all that pumping (urgh) I didn’t know how long I would breastfeed for and at the very start, I didn’t know if it would happen at all. Anyway, we got there and if you wanted to read about that I have a blog on prematurity and breastfeeding which covers what happened.

Review | Beat That! The Bonkers Battle of Wacky Challenges

One of the great things about being a blogger is having the opportunity to discover brand new products, games, toys whilst also getting the chance to meet the people behind the scenes. So, when I attended a blogging conference the other weekend, I was very excited to see what had recently come to market and there was one stall that really stood out to me (mostly because they were incredibly fun, enthusiastic and had bloggers joining in from the off!) Zak and Kate are a young, married couple who came up with their very first game, Gutterhead, in 2017 which completely flew off the shelves. Since then they have put all of their bubbling enthusiasm into their business, Gutter Games, and into creating more games with their latest being ‘Beat That!’ – which was actually dreamed up on their honeymoon. It has only just come out this September and is the game which they were showcasing to us at Blogon and the one they kindly asked me to review for them.

I recently attended a blogging conference where I was fortunate enough to speak to lots of different brands and see some of their new products that are coming or have just come to market. One brand which I have previously worked with on a Toy Story Puzzle Review, Jumbo Games, was there and as I am a big fan of getting my children into playing games and away from the electronics, I am always eager to see what they have come up with. They did not disappoint! As soon as I mentioned that my blog had taken more of an eco angle, the PR was right on it and he presented me with this beautiful collection of games in cardboard boxes. I may have got a little excited at just the boxes! You see, the boxes are made from 100% recycled materials…

Just recently as I have sat and heard the news of all that people are trying to do to raise awareness of climate change, as I have scrolled through Instagram seeing those that I follow make eco-swap after eco-swap and as I have read yet another passionate talk from Greta Thunberg, my heart has been filled with pride. Proud that at long last, people are standing up for our planet, that people are trying no matter how small a change it is and that the next generation are going to be the changers for this world but there’s a but… Urgh, I know! Where there is positivity, negativity seems to somehow follow.
