Lapland Letters

Review | Bring A Little Christmas Magic With Lapland Letters

*Ad

Christmas is a very special time in our household and not just because we have 2 boys who get very excited about Santa coming but also because it is one of their birthdays, meaning it’s double the fun! I always want to make each year magical but after having such a strange year, I wanted to bring Christmas into our home a little earlier than usual. 2020 has meant a lot of events have had to be cancelled and this will most probably include Santa’s Grottoes so what better way to bring a little Christmas magic than with our very own homemade grotto with Lapland Letters waiting for them?!

How To Create Your Homemade Advent Calendar

Last year I made the decision to stop using a shop-bought advent calendar. I didn’t want to add to our UK waste problem, I didn’t want more plastic going in the bin and, to be honest, the chocolate is never that nice anyway, is it?! What I wanted to create was an advent for my child to remember. One that brought joy just as Christmas should and one that gave back over the coming year.

This is how I created our homemade advent calendar…

How You Can Be More Eco-Friendly This Christmas

*Contains ads

With Christmas just around the corner, you may already be thinking about those presents, the decorations, how much food you will need to buy and which family will be hosting. It’s a big day and it can take a lot of planning BUT is it too big? Has Christmas got out of hand? Do we need to start reining it all in? Do we need to consider our waste and consumption now that we are very aware of the overuse of plastic and climate change? Looking at current figures I’d say so! It has been reported that in the UK alone we create 30% more waste than usual during the festive period, which includes two million turkeys and six million Christmas trees plus 1 billion Christmas cards!!

I am far from being a ‘Pinterest Mum’. I mean, I give things a fair good go but they usually turn out well, um, let’s say less than perfect… Just check out my, er, Halloween pumpkin cupcakes I attempted last year. They certainly didn’t look like this on Pinterest and these definitely didn’t end up at the school fair!

Christmas is NOT a Competition, Don’t Let It Overwhelm You

Over the last week or so I have become more and more enraged as the Christmas season has gradually crept up… a bit too prematurely for my liking, I mean is it just me or is ‘Christmas’ getting earlier each year?! Santa in November anyone?!

Now, I am all for celebrating. I am definitely all for the pretty lights, the cosy nights by the fire, the songs (I love the songs!)

Review | Getting Christmas Ready With Magic Santa Letter

*Gifted Product

Christmas is coming and when you have children it means it gets all that little more exciting, doesn’t it? I’ve found that with each year that Jake has got older, Christmas has become so much more to him (obviously it is also his birthday) and I am loving finding new ways to make it even more fun! Last year, we were lucky enough to be asked to review ‘The Truly Magical’ Magic Santa Letter so when they got into contact again this year I was so happy. With 2 little boys to think about now (I know, one is a baby but I’m all about the nostalgia!) I want to make these occasions as memorable and special as I can.

Yes, I said it. Christmas. I’m not usually one to say it quite so early but what with numerous birthdays beforehand (as well as one on the day itself!) I have decided that this year is the year I get organised and on the ball well in advance. As a busy Mum of 2 now, I can’t leave it all to the last minute anymore and I don’t want to be rushing around when we could be enjoying the run-up to the big day by visiting Grottos, going to Christmas Fayres or even to one of the many stunning winter wonderlands that are on in our area.
