Getting out and about is one of the things we love to do as a family. Jake has always been energetic and never one for staying still so we have had to discover plenty of ways to keep him both physically and mentally busy. As with all children, Jake goes through phases of what he likes but right now he is very much into anything with army print and involves role-playing. Gardening for me has become a hobby that I love and with each year that we live here, I am even more determined to perfect ours. Unfortunately, our gardening tools are starting to fail us and we’ve been living with a secondhand lawnmower that has the handle taped together in a desperate attempt to save it for a little longer and a grass trimmer that gave up the ghost years ago– leaving me to trim all the border edges with garden scissors… yep, its a tedious job but the perfectionist in me just cannot leave it!

Review: Creating Memories with Photowall

With William arriving prematurely, it has been a very different experience to what it is usually would be when you have a baby. One of the most notable differences is not being able to create beautiful, memorable photos from the moment they are born. Of course, photos can be taken in NICU but they aren’t ones you would want to put up around the house, are they? It is amazing to watch your baby’s progress and to document it via pictures but I was longing to be able to take a stunning photo of my boys together at last.

With the imminent arrival of baby number two, we have been looking into the essential items that we need to purchase or replace. We do have a second-hand travel cot from Jake’s baby days but it has always been a tricky one to set up so I was eager to see what else was now available on the market as I know children’s products adapt and change so rapidly.

I had a look through their wide range of Travel Cots for sale and was immediately drawn to the Joie Commuter Travel Cot with Changing Cloud. The main reasons being that I love the colour– yes this is important to me– I love the changing mat feature, how easy would this make life when you are away? And the fact that you can reduce the issue of draughts on your sleeping baby.
