The Baby Show

The Baby Show Experience

*Gifted Tickets

On Sunday I was invited along to The Baby Show at London Olympia. When I was pregnant with Jake we didn’t do any of the big baby things; we didn’t go to NCT, we didn’t go to baby shows or expectant parent evenings and my general attitude was to take things as they came and learn on the job. This is fine to an extent but when it comes to gadgets, new products, items that will make your life easier, I had no clue which is why I was so excited to be able to attend a massive show like this one.

SpeedBump Maternity Activewear Review

*Gifted Items

Staying fit and healthy during this pregnancy was something I had decided upon even before I fell with this little guy. I wouldn’t say that my first pregnancy was unhealthy but I wasn’t partaking in any exercise classes and I really did use being pregnant as an excuse to take things easy. This all changed after he was born and I have been actively going to workout classes since Jake was about a year old so my fitness and strength have both increased in the last 3 years. This has meant that since finding out I was expecting with baby number 2 I haven’t had to alter my usual workouts of using kettlebells, Barbells, Bulgarian bags, TRX and other activities within my HIIT classes because my body is used to the level I have been working at. However, as my shape began to change and my bump began to grow I found that trying to find comfortable activewear clothing was a huge challenge. It is always tricky at the start when the bump isn’t quite big enough for over the bump clothing but is too big for normal clothes, isn’t it? There is rarely anything in-between available on the market and I discovered how restricting this can become for those who want to keep fit during their pregnancy.

From Nursery To Toddler Room In A Few Simple Steps

*Gifted Product

With a new baby on the way we felt it was time to put some focus onto Jake. We decided the best way to do this was to update his bedroom before we begin on the new nursery. His room has been kept almost the same since he was born and as he will be four this year we felt it was time for it to shift from nursery to toddler room. This is how we achieved it in a few simple steps…

the piano guys on tour

The Piano Guys: A Show To Remember

I was first introduced to the music of The Piano Guys thanks to the power of adverts. I don’t know if you remember it but there was a travel agent advert on TV where a man begins the story as an ogre and as his family holiday starts and progresses he sheds his ogre exterior to reveal the man underneath. Every single time it came on the music pulled at my heart and one day I turned to my husband and told him that I needed to know what it was. He agreed and had said he loved it too… so over to Google we went and soon discovered the sheer talent that we had been missing out on. The song was Beethoven’s 5 secrets and here if you haven’t heard it before here it is:

dinosaur world

Review: Dinosaur World at The Anvil

*Gifted Tickets

Jake is a huge dinosaur fan, so when Anvil Arts invited us along to review the new show Dinosaur World we jumped at the chance. The show is suitable from the age of three and runs for 50 minutes with no interval, which works out well. With this being our third theatre show of the year we have started to learn how long Jake can hold his attention for and anything over an hour has him wriggling in his seat. However, this show is completely different from your usual one. The lights remain up through most of it and photos are permitted throughout which is a nice change.

The Dinosaur World show is performed by Miranda who tells her story of how she came to live on an island inhabited by dinosaurs. She grew up around them and learnt all she could from her parents. She is extremely enthusiastic throughout the show and her on-stage energy keeps the children’s attention. She encourages the audience to shout out and join in as well as asking selected members to join her up on stage to help with each dinosaur.
