First aid training for babies and children was something I had always wanted to do but with the arrival of Jake and the whirlwind of becoming a first time Mother it meant it became one of those things I just kept (naughtily) putting off. Then when William arrived 8 weeks early, it seemed to be the only thing I could think about. My perspective on child emergency care had vastly changed and when he was allowed to come home with us after 3 weeks in NICU, I was extremely nervous that something would happen and I wouldn’t know what to do. The hospital were amazing and provided us with basic CPR and choking knowledge before his discharge but I felt that I needed more in-depth training which would cover other possible accidents or medical situations, so when Alison from Mini First Aid Berkshire got in touch about attending one of her 2 hour classes, I jumped at the chance.

Perfect Toys for Your Mini-Adventurers: A Wicked Uncle Review
*Gifted Products
Getting out and about is one of the things we love to do as a family. Jake has always been energetic and never one for staying still so we have had to discover plenty of ways to keep him both physically and mentally busy. As with all children, Jake goes through phases of what he likes but right now he is very much into anything with army print and involves role-playing. Having already heard of Wicked Uncle and knowing how vast their range of children’s toys is, I was very happy to be asked to review some items of my choice.

“Say Hello” Tummy Time Discovery Toy Review
*Gifted Product
Development for William may come at different stages due to his prematurity but one thing I am very positive about doing is providing plenty of sensory stimulation for him. As he has now been out for 19 weeks, his little mind wants to do so much more than his body can manage as he should only really be 11 weeks old. He has become frustrated with laying on the floor, he loves to have something to help him up and he adores watching toys, looking at bright colours and being interacted with. I remember how much my first son hated tummy time but to help us out, my cousin loaned us her tummy time cushion. It was such a useful baby product in aiding Jake in his movement so when Baby Sensory contacted us to review their “Say Hello” Tummy Time Discovery Toy I knew it would be a hit with William.

Review: VonHaus Lawnmower and Grass Trimmer from Domu
*Gifted Product
Gardening for me has become a hobby that I love and with each year that we live here, I am even more determined to perfect ours. Unfortunately, our gardening tools are starting to fail us and we’ve been living with a secondhand lawnmower that has the handle taped together in a desperate attempt to save it for a little longer and a grass trimmer that gave up the ghost years ago– leaving me to trim all the border edges with garden scissors… yep, its a tedious job but the perfectionist in me just cannot leave it!

Review: Teething Solutions with Amber Pumpkin
Teething has to be one of the worst parts of having a baby. It can begin from the moment they are born and last for three years, what other development stage lasts that long?! With the experience of having an early teether the first time around, I knew I would have my work cut out for me the second time around too. Four years have passed since Jake went through it all so I knew the teething remedy world would have moved on since then. So, I have been prepared. I have stocked up on the usual medicinal remedies and have been keeping my eye on the newest teether aids coming onto the market. And I was right, William is also an early teether, almost right on par with Jake and showing all the same early signs of chewing, gnawing, dribbling and screaming with pain. I just hope I can find a solution much faster this time and with the help of Amber Pumpkin I have already started.

Review: Shark DuoClean Vs Dyson V6

I am a clean freak, I can happily admit this although since having children I’ve had to let things slide a little… ok, a lot more. I now find cleaning to be a task that has to be planned, that takes the whole week and that has to be pretty quick. Long gone are the days where I spent an entire day cleaning my home from top to bottom and even though I don’t miss spending my days doing this I do miss how clean my home was each week.

Having a treat for myself these days is a rarity. I am currently in the throws of that newborn haze and am so sleep-deprived that sugar has become my go-to food source… on an hourly basis! So, when Lisa from Petite Pops asked me to review her cake pops there was no way I could refuse.
Lisa began her new venture after baking cake pops
