How to Help Your Child Cope with Having a Sibling in NICU

I was recently contacted by a Mother asking me if I had written a post on how to help your child cope with having a sibling in NICU. I hadn’t even thought about this as a blog topic but also couldn’t believe I had overlooked it! Through the emotions, the tiredness, the back and forth to the hospital, I had constantly thought about our baby and writing about his journey yet the other superstar hasn’t had a mention, and he definitely deserves one.

How We’ve Been Making Positive Eco-friendly Changes

A little while ago I wrote about 5 changes I was planning on making to be more eco-friendly; do away with clingfilm, buy a compost bin, grow our own, switch to reusable nappies and reusable sanitary towels. At the time I had the idea but I must admit that what with being a parent of two now, being tired most of the time and being quite stuck in my ways, I felt a little hesitant and apprehensive. It’s daft how we all get so

What’s in my Teething Essentials Kit?

*Affiliate Links

You may have noticed by now that I have a big bugbear… it’s teething! From the moment my first son began until his last molar eventually erupted, I despaired. The pain, the crying, the endless symptoms, the sleepless nights, all for 20 little teeth which will fall out anyway! I’ve enjoyed having the break from it all these last couple of years but now the second one is suffering just as badly and I have found myself immersed back in the world of teething and remembering exactly why I wrote my book in the first place!

Messy Me Splash Mat and Bib Review

*Gifted Products

Weaning has begun in our household and it’s messy! My first child, Jake, was a fusspot from day one. He only liked pureed food, he would even turn his nose up at some of those flavours and he was a choker… sigh, how does a baby choke on puree?! William, however, has proved he is the complete opposite from day one. He showed us he wanted food and he has certainly made it clear that pureed is ok but proper food is brilliant! He chomps away on anything and so far hasn’t shown any dislike for tastes or textures. The only downside is the extra mess I’ve been experiencing all over the floor, highchair and on him! So, when Messy Me asked me to review a splash mat and bib, it couldn’t have come at a better time.
