Having a printer in our home is a must for us. I have one child at school who needs it for homework (or for homeschooling during lockdown), a younger child who loves to colour in and I find printing pages is far easier than purchasing books all of the time. My husband is working from home and may well be for the foreseeable so he requires regular access to a printer. And then there’s all of our home/life paperwork which needs printing and filing. However, there is always one drawback when you have a printer, isn’t there? Running out of ink. Surely this has to be one of the most frustrating things to happen, especially when you are halfway through printing something you need. My other bugbear here is having to go to a shop, work out which ink cartridges are compatible (yes, I am that person who has to take the used cartridge into a tech store to show the staff!) and let’s not even talk about some of the prices!

Review | JASÖN® Natural Care Shampoo and Conditioner

My hair has always been a bit of a challenge. Not only is it very fine, but it is also prone to grease and let’s not even list what pregnancy, breastfeeding and postpartum hormones have done to it! Even though I had my second child 3 years ago now and stopped breastfeeding him a year ago, I am still seeing a lot of changes in both my hair and skin which means I have struggled to find products that will consistently work for me. As an eco-conscious person, I was pretty determined to make a shampoo soap bar work for me but I think I have now spent 18 months experimenting and I still cannot find one that leaves my hair looking and feeling how it does with a normal shampoo. I have really persevered through some bad hair days, knots and a heavy feel but there are some things that you need in life in order to feel at your best and having good hair is one of those that is really important to me, but how can I still care for the environment by using bottled shampoo? Review | Bring A Little Christmas Magic With Lapland Letters

Christmas is a very special time in our household and not just because we have 2 boys who get very excited about Santa coming but also because it is one of their birthdays, meaning it’s double the fun! I always want to make each year magical but after having such a strange year, I wanted to bring Christmas into our home a little earlier than usual. 2020 has meant a lot of events have had to be cancelled and this will most probably include Santa’s Grottoes so what better way to bring a little Christmas magic than with our very own homemade grotto with Lapland Letters waiting for them?!

Simba Single Mattress Review

It had come to that time when we had to think about saying goodbye to the cot bed and move the youngest into a more grown-up, single bed. With William still waking in the night, we felt we had already tried every avenue and I even more recently changed his duvet to help with making his bed more snuggly but it still didn’t work and I realised that the best course of action would be to provide a bigger bed in which he wouldn’t be banging into the sides and most importantly, one with a much more substantial and comfortable mattress. The mattress in his cot is perfect for a baby but with the extra weight and movement now as an almost 3-year-old, it just wasn’t up to the job anymore. Thankfully, the lovely people over at Simba got in touch and as my mattress is by them and I love it, I knew their single mattress would be spot on for William.

Review | The Mozy- An Outdoors Wrap With A Difference

You may have realised by now that we are a very outdoorsy family. We love exploring new places, going on long walks and being close to nature. What you may not have realised about me is that I cannot stand being cold. In fact, once my body gets too cold I find it hard to warm up and that can often put a dampener on a day out. So, on those chillier days good clothing, a warm jacket and a blanket are often taken out with us especially if we are sitting somewhere for a picnic or on the beach. However, a blanket doesn’t really do a great job. With gaps around the underneath of you, the constant re-aligning of it due to the kids jumping on you and the lack of consistent warmth, sometimes it just doesn’t seem worth it and I thought I was just destined to forever be moaning that I am cold. Review | WUKA Period Swim Bikini Brief

Swimming whilst on your period can be a bit of a pain. Exercise is such a great way of banishing those menstrual cramps but for some, the thought of getting into a pool during this time of the month can be daunting. You want to feel completely protected, you want to be comfortable and you want a product that will work with you not against you. In the past, tampons have been my go-to for swimming but since embarking on my eco journey, I haven’t wanted to use them. Of course, I have had to at times but funnily enough, since having my children, they have also become the most alien things to my body. I have been able to feel a tampon through every movement and couldn’t wait to remove it. Thankfully I then discovered the far more comfortable and eco-friendly menstrual cup but what do you do if you have a lighter period or if you want to swim towards the end of it?
